Especially with how aggressive nat is, I bet it would work. It sounds to me like they did pf cakes too.

Great find! Love seeing these scientific papers.

i always imagine laboratory people would be using some top quality grain and autoclave them and using agar wedge but it comes down to PF tek and they transfer them in fruiting chamber at 60% of colonization.

good to know centrifuge can clean spore too, i always thought it was use to get A.P.E spores

I think it’s funny that scientists use the term monotub rather than specifying the volume and shit in science terms. I’d imagine them saying “a 66 quart clear polyethylene vessel with a lid” or some shit

Even the way it's worded makes it sound like it's a dude who mysteriously knows how to make monotubs and brought one in from home. Mr. L. Morland is a Shroomerite.

this rabbit hole goes more deeper,

the same four dudes/gals from south Africa university/ laboratory are about to publish another report and it gets more interesting and this time they are using leucistic A+ strain and Panaeolus cyanescens potential to cure heart disease and heart attack, the search began with natalensis.

i think someone need to send them P.E and A.K.A natalensis clone or TAT

Yeah some of the wording makes me question the stuff a little.

Most psilocybes have tons of anti bacterial/inflammatory stuff in them so that’s not surprising, I want a full read out of alkaloids!

Specifically to look for augeresin or whatever that one is I can never remember.

Aeruginascin

From Wikipedia, for those who don't want to open the link:

"Aeruginascin is the N-trimethyl analogue of psilocybin. [...] The only scientific literature about the pharmacological effects of aeruginascin is from a study published by Gartz in 1989. Across 23 analyzed cases of accidental hallucinogenic mushroom poisonings, people who had ingested the mushroom Inocybe aeruginascens reported only euphoric experiences. This is in contrast to the slight and in some cases extremely dysphoric experiences reported from the accidental ingestion of non aeruginascin containing mushrooms (containing solely psilocybin and psilocin)."

Certainly very interesting. Might explain the subjective differences in the experiences produced by Cubensis and Natalensis?
edit: Wait where did you read that Natalensis has this chemical?

BTW I spawned four shoeboxes of Nats yesterday from WBR spawn. No signs of stones and I didn't want to wait.

I have no idea if natalensis contains aeruginascin, I think A.k.a was just speculating due to the anecdotal differences in effects.

Baeocystin and norbaeocystin are another two found in many active fungi in varying amounts as well.

This.

Exceptionally positive trips seem to be pretty common with natal from what we’ve had reported here.

there is no evidence on cubes containing Aeruginascin but this research paper says, they found in Inocybe aeruginascens

and it packs a punch.

I know but most of the trip reports with natalensis seem to be very positive compared to other species so I’m curious if they contain augeresin. AFAIK nobodies looked for it yet.

analysis of natalensis were weird because they never post on alkaloids, plus most of these labs are either tariffed to death by governments or they do not want to disclose these information, imo its step in right direction.

i contact them waiting on response maybe they give out something, now i am curious too :laugh2:

i can not get malt extract in my country so one of these lab people once helped me to dial down PDA for fungus and i am really hoping they give out more info

interesting hypothesis!!!

ive been working on some projects with an analytical chemist in the cannabis and hops industries, specializes in finding novel compounds (pretty fuckin cool huh?), but is definitely capable of identifying the presence of something if we know what we are looking for

i will hit him up about running some tests to see if we can verify the presence of aeruginascin in natals.

any other compounds worth lookin for besides Baeocystin and norbaeocystin?
