Ah, okay. sorry if I was being a dick then. I legitimately want you to understand why it matters, and that's what's important to me about the issue, so I don't want to blow you off if you have real questions. it is very much like watching an abusive relationship and it's frustrating. just gotta do some good where and when you can and hope that one day one of the people gets what they need to find a way out. slightly more people get out that way.

Let's reapproach.
This delta jive is supposed to be 1000x more transmittable or whatever vaccine or no vaccine.
I'm not vaccinated. Vaccinated people dont have to wear a mask where I am. When that vaccinated person coughs on me and I get delta and die do I deserve it?
Why didnt he mask up to protect me. I'm supposed to get vaccinated to protect ..who?

Nobody deserves to die or suffer unnecessarily IMO (maybe DeSantis), particularly when there is so much fear and new information to deal with. That combo makes it really hard for people to reason through the available information and make good decisions. I'm vaccinated and I'm wearing a mask in public now, primarily to protect others from me. There are also larger social issues, but the long and short of it is that it's in everyone's best interest to slow and prevent spread and replication of the virus and to reduce the burden of morbidity and mortality caused by the disease.

I would be against active aggression towards them, ackchyually. But if they choose to fuck off and die, I applaud and encourage that.
But you are right. Apparently vaccinated people are also spreading The Delta Variant (though, to what degree compared to unvaccinated, I do not know and am not sure it is known) and should also wear damask.

you get vaccinated to protect yourself, and secondarily the people around you. Yeah with these new variants its looking like vaccination may not be very effective, but a 50% improvement in odds or whatever the correct number, is still an improvement in odds.
the government's job is not to prevent you from getting or spreading covid. If it was, they would have teams of people in hazmat suits on every corner doing PCR tests and throwing infected people into covid gulags.
The government's job is to educate people, and enforce just enough measures that the healthcare system isn't overrun.
every country on earth as far as i know is recommending you get a vaccine if you want to limit potential damage from covid to yourself and those around you.(
if you don't want to, you really don't gotta. Just wash your hands, stay home if you feel sick, and maybe get a covid test every once in awhile to make sure you're not asymptotic but spreading it. If you're very polite, wear a mask just in case you're asymptomatic and don't know you have it.
The vaccine recommendation is because people are filthy animals who don't do the above, and can't stop coughing in each other's faces for 10 days. If you're not worried about someone coughing in your face that's fine, basic sanitation should prevent you from spreading it to others.

smoking is a lesser threat at this point, but further legal protections are not unmerited. Education worked well for cigarrettes, and smoking has been restricted in several ways other to good effect. Fast food should be on the list too. It has lots of lobbyists and corrupt support that empowers it to harm people without people being empowered to make informed decisions about it's cost/benefits. The laws should protect the group from individuals (or corporate interest which are similar in spirit but much more impactful), and it should also protect individuals from the group. Covid is a case where people are capable of causing harm to each other. I'd feel differently if this were strictly a scenario where people where hurting themselves and only themselves.

Sure, but to a degree. We all take some personal responsibility for ourselves and the people around us, but it's never absolute. Some examples are more extreme\absolute than others though. smoking isnt on the same level as fastfood, I cant stop smoking, but I could just get fastfood on special occasions like WINGDAY™️, please dont put restrictions on it, if someones eating it everyday, thats on them, really, you could buy worse at the grocery store
