I had a sporeless PE6 for sure. It was nice and I should have put it in the fridge

Shiiiiet I forgot all about spore inhalation being a thing and I'm growing em right next to where I work all day. Hopefully my setup is small enough that I'm not killing myself lol. Just running 4 shoeboxes at a time right now. Thankfully I've had a HEPA filter nearby running 24/7.

Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah, fuck spores up the corn pipe! They look like shit, taste like shit, and reduce bag appeal. Sporeless is next to godliness.
Besides, you've grown everything else.
Allergies are a total bummer. If i open up a tub and get blasted with dusty trich smell pre-explosion, it jst smells bad haha. I can roll around in poison oak/ivy nothing will happen,..but if i was then to go bump against one of my brothers they wud fucking die.

Does anyone have other issues working with mush? Like, do yall use gloves when harvestin' and shit?

I use reusable gloves that I can wash, when harvesting.

Pea+ started going ejectionless after like f3.. can’t remember which I sent ya.  Really like the buzz off em too.  Doesn’t stomp on your gonads like PE but still above average and tends to ease into a nice high plateau

I just get stained fingers.  And high from handling them...fucking not!  :okthatsfunny:

Anyway you should be harvesting before the veils break if you want maximum potency by weight.  Letting them go on just adds weight not actives.

Plus - check it out - the tea tastes a lot better when made from just-picked fruits that are at their peak.  Or, OK, it tastes less awful. :hereyougo:

I’ve heard spores taste horrible too, so if you harvest early before the gills are loaded that should help the taste.

I had really bad asthma as a kid, once I hit about 25 it got a lot better. I don’t notice breathing problems so much but I definitely get allergy type symptoms when I spend a lot of time in my grow room. Feels like my sinuses have swollen shut sometimes.

Idk how much is from spores and how much is from the molds that are all over now.

I remember way back sock got a microscope and spit on a slide and there was a bunch of spores in it just from sitting in the room though.

Usually try to grab before veil break but work full time. Which was the problem with nss every day it was needing to be harvested and  dumping on itself before I got home. I ended up scraping it just because it was getting annoying.

Sorry to hear that d3. I have a severe spore allergy but I've only noticed it from gourmets especially oyster and shiitake. Happened to be because my grow room used to be in my basement and wasn't ventilated properly. Spores coated EVERYTHING multiple times. Now I can't go in my garage without a respirator or holdin my breath

I use a 3m 6502 and it works. I like it because it has a quick release on the front if you want to talk.

Its an argument for clones for sure.  And for sporeless clones as well. :snoopyes:

deadmandave those respirators are the shit.  I got one for a shower remodel where the wood had gotten all rotten and damn, couldn't even smell it using it...

Here’s mine, I prefer the 3m as it has less resistance on exhale so
Can breathe a little more naturally.

Speaking of no spore drop.. I didn’t get to these today due to cleaning ext. will def have to grab tomorrow

 mushrooms grow on corn and so do i

Another benefit of the 6502 is you can flip the mask down without taking it off and grab a quick nibble of corn

(Reminder: don't use valved masks during sterile work. It's as bad as wearing no mask.)

I really like my 3m 7586 with the pink p100 multi-purpose filter discs (they seem to last forever unless you need the organic filtering functionality, which gets used up). Doesn't hurt my nose, but the adjustment is a little finnicky.

The silicone/rubber masks with removable/interchangeable cartridges are much more comfortable (but hotter) than disposable N95 masks. I also tried the mask that takes a disposable flat N95 filter (3m 3200), and that type doesn't seem significantly better than disposable 3m masks. Medical disposable 3m masks fit great, very comfortable, but they may be impossible to find during covid.

When I was doing metal or woodworking and I unexpectedly made a cloud of dust, my response was to hold my breath, exit the room, and turn on an air purifier. I could grab a mask and resume my work, or just wait half an hour before going back to the dusty area. Perhaps we should respond the same way when we accidentally disturb a tub that's full of spores without any precautions in place.

Ya if I don't get a little corn nibble here and there my mushrooms just don't grow...
That must be my problem.
