MLB Second Half Thread. 1

Glad they won't let pitchers cheat anymore. Nothing like the steroid era for the batters but it was getting ridiculous.
Covid year 2. I wonder if they will still let people go to games at full capacity. Was cool to see so many people returning in droves and missing it. Is so much more fun to go to a game with a good seat and view near the field and I have missed that in Denver.
Glad it wasn't in the stadium but does it really surprise anyone that at a Nats game in D.C. that there was a shooting outside of the ballpark and gunfire going off? It fits so well for D.C. Fans thinking it was someone possibly from above Vegas style shooting down on them when it was just regular D.C. outside of the stadium. That was great though seeing some of the players letting fans in the dugout for shelter while others were just trying to take cover by their seats and others just making a b-line to the concourse areas. There is a reason for the NBA they used to be called the Bullets and then changed it to the most stupid name in all of sports to the Wizards. Yeah, that fits D.C. really well. Nationals makes sense, Wizards, stupid.
On a lighter topic that made me laugh that the fan that threw a baseball into the back of a player from his outfield seat during a Red Sox-Yankees game is banned for life from all MLB stadiums. I've heard of being banned from one but from all of them? Wow.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/fan-who-threw-baseball-at-alex-verdugo-banned-for-life-from-all-mlb-ballparks/ar-AAMitlB?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531
No clue who will win it all but the Dodgers are the favorites. Hope it is any team besides them again. So tired of the BIG MARKET teams with 200 million plus payrolls ruling the game. Though I do enjoy seeing a game at Chavez Ravine. Has a great laid back Cali vibe to it. People show up in the 3rd inning and leave around the 7th or 8th inning. Is weird.
Anyone have favorite ballparks they like to go to? Also anyone think anyone has a chance to win a championship besides the Dodgers?

The A's aren't getting their San Fran like stadium on the waterfront after the vote today. That is by far the worst stadium I have seen a baseball game at. Poverty sucks. San Fran is fun. That area and COLLASIUM from Roman times isn't.
Once is enough seeing a game there. Had no desire to go back. Kind of like SF-Oakland is like North Side-South Side in Chicago. At least L.A. has two enjoyable stadiums and MVP man. Been to Candlestick and the Big A. Watch old highlights and it is, wow. How did they play on concrete turf for MLB and NFL back during the heyday of shit stadiums? Just like G.S. just move them out of that area.

"Known as the Indians since 1915, Cleveland's Major League Baseball team will next be called the Guardians."
Guardians of what? We wiped them out long ago. Sticking with Chief Wahoo. And yes I know they found it racially insensitive and remove that logo but it was not enough now was it? Jose Mesa forever in the one out away for a World Series Championship.
Chief Wahoo will live on. More importantly wish they would of won that world series.
Is amusing the record breaking temps, flooding, and droughts if there was at educated guess, 20-30 percent Native Americans keeping what they believed, they have always treated me well and introduced me to peyote, think their ways are better than what this world is now. DESTROY EVERY HABITAT AND WIPE OUT EVERY ANIMAL AND POLLUTE air, water and crops. Basically everything that supports and is needed for life.
But the Guardians. Great. Will change the world lol.
R.I.P Chief Wahoo. We, for the most part, will miss you.

U.S. going for the Gold. Just beat South Korea so 1 more. Wish they had MLB players on it but just win it. NBA will get their Gold soon as K.D. is starting to just take over games.
Is amusing to me that the U.S. won some bullshit trophy in football/soccer that had nothing to do with the Olympics as they weren't even good enough to make it into it. Goes with my theory of why Soccer is the main sport of the world especially with 3rd world countries. Just give me a soccer ball if I can afford it and dirt. Can't afford the gear for the Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey.
Just one more win.

God. Can the Yankees and Dodgers add anything more? Always comes back to the Expos and Pedro, Larry, and then money being thrown literally on the field during the strike. Think the Montreal would of won that year but drawn like 2 thousand fans to the World Series.
But seriously this is getting ridiculous for big market teams. Doesn't matter if you trade your best prospects. When developed through the Minor Leagues I mean small market teams just resign them. Is a joke.
As a Rockies fan giving Arenado away for a mediocre pitcher and paying the Cards 50 million to do so is a joke. Tired of this shit. And yes Tampa is doing OK and the A's but do they ever win championships or keeps their players when they lose and need the big contract? NOPE!
God, L.A. has stocked up on every good player money can buy.

Enjoyed the cornfield game and the Sox winning it that way. Was amusing how the outfielders were testing the fences and new stadium type designs they weren't used to. I just don't like the Yankees. Lose there, lose anywhere, doesn't matter to me.

Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer placed on administrative leave, extended, going into Watson territory of the Texans just in a different way but, shit. That made me laugh the joke about Watson finding a massage therapist.
Why did the Rockies keep Story and give 50 million to a HOF to the Cardinals? Not that story will but that is bad. Sign one to a massive contract and just dump him and here is 50 million. Stupid. People hate the ownership in Denver. Pot prices are reasonable though even if the baseball is shit.
Tegrity.

Riding the White Sox. And Red Sox are done. Tim Anderson made me laugh. Great player but that play, wow, that was bad.
On with it.
I don't care if soccer is more popular than the mlb. Just look at the fans going to games. Talk to them at sports bars and games. Is a wonderful thing. Could give a shit less about Minor League Football in the States.
Braves are killing it and with DeGrom gone, Mets are done.

Just the highlights. It was OK and yes the White Sox have the best record in the MLB. Just would of liked it without the fences and just the corn stalks in the outfield like the movie. Still it was a good show/production and seeing the players try like it was a normal MLB game was amusing in a good way.
Have seen Field of Dreams and Bull Durham many times and having Costner there, nostalgia but in a good way.
On with the season! Yankees are tearing it up now as our the Dodgers. Playing a simulator game on my laptop since I still can't buy a new PS, well I can and the Show but not paying a grand for it. And every year it is the Yankees against the Dodgers. Think payroll has something to do with that.
All this hype about the up and comers and then the trades and then the teams like L.A. and the Yanks just buy them back just makes it basically a 8 league MLB. Still what Tampa Bay has done in that shit stadium, and their record though I have never heard someone say, I want to go to the Trop! Is impressive and so is Oakland but they never win it all. Make the playoffs great.
Just glad to see Atlanta finally starting to do well. Am a Rockies fan. Never hope for us.

God. 8-0 over the Mets. San Fran. Hoping for a White Sox-Giants World Series matchup. And Sox won easily. Yankees are the wildcard. Dodgers can fuck off. They can have a complete all-star team which they do but please God no, not again.

I really hate that Mad Max is on the Dodgers and doing so well. It was like a shot in the arm for him going to this team as he grew bored with the Nats. Sucks because he is one pitcher I would go out of my way to watch and get a good ticket for but not pitching for the Dodgers.
Yanks are winning everything. If it is a Dodgers/Yankees matchup
Seriously I wouldn't watch it unless it went to a game seven. On with the season.

Joey V. on the tReds. At 37 that is amazing.
Cubs and White Sox. Love how they are drawing fans and not the corporate seats. Sox got it first. Fuck off Cubbies I can watch a few highlights and it is horrid. Like watching a game where I live.
The playoffs should be interesting. Makes me laugh Javier and Francisco getting a hit and putting a thumbs down for the Mets after it because they play like shit.
God I need a vacation. This is Summer 2.

San Fran. No one thinks they will win championships but they usually do half as much as the Yankees. Last 20 years. 8 Major League teams with payrolls and then the rest. Dodgers are always beatable in the playoffs. Don't care if they won during covid year. Don't think anyone much does.
This weekend is playoff matchup with a lot of teams. The extra wild card from a few years past just like the ads on the mound are worthless. Is amusing how every sports team is trying to make up for lost revenue. Last resort is requiring players to have corporate tattoos on them.
On with it.

With the Mets and Yankees game today made me laugh. The Face Syl going, as Stallone while looking and taking like like Stallone, "FROM THE DEPTH OF MY BEING, 9/11 didn't happen. Cut by a seal of the President a Biden sketch with face recognition plastering on a actor. That really made me laugh.
I think the Yanks pulled the game out. But both suck. God that was amusing. Laughed for quite a bit. It was comedy. Really, people fear all the wrong things.
On with tomorrows games.

Thinking White Sox/Dodgers. I get why Carlos wants out of Houston and why fans hate the Astros. He wants out because he is tired of hearing it endlessly about them stealing a championship.
For a person with any integrity. They take the money for winning it no problem there but that ring will never mean ANYTHING! Fuck Houston. May a hurricane flood and destroy it all.
Seriously though just a joke and best to them but the White Sox have been the most entertaining team to watch this year and the Dodgers and they stacked up for a heavyweight fight. Will see. Would be an entertaining series.
Would like San Fran but no, just don't see it happening though hope they beat out the Dodgers for the N.L. West title. Great to see Posey still has it and for any baseball fan you have to go to see them and that park and atmosphere/vibe. I think many San Fran's are the happiest people on earth. It is just fun. Denver Rockies is so different but it reflects the vibe of the city which isn't a bad thing. I love Coors.
Just hoping and betting and going during on/during Delta, why the fuck do they name it Corona and then Delta and both corps. are pissed about it which makes me laugh. You still have to make something of the end of Summer and beginning of Fall. Just not going to late games in October on the southside of Chicago. It sucks.

The White Sox are loaded with young talent, but the fans here are not that confident about the postseason. I would rather see this team led by Ozzy or somebody enthusiasm generating like him. Hiring LaRussa was just Reinsdorf trying to make up for a mistake he made 35 years ago.

Yeah. It kind of pissed me off when Tony old school turned the team against him for awhile because a batter crushed a home run when it was a blowout. He will be a Hall of Famer. Is strange already seeing him plastered on a wall in the outfield in St. Louis with Hall of Famers and he is still managing. He built a luxury animal shelter so I can't hate the guy.
Hope so much SF gets the N.L. West and the Dodgers lose the one game playoff. That is a game I would watch from beginning to finish. Hope S.D., which is a hope that most likely won't happen matches up with them and with Snell. Yes he has sucked lately but he deserves it after getting pulled when could of won a world series. And in one game is all about the pitchers.
Why is Posey and Longoria so good again? Who knows?
Tony having a bad night. Still makes me laugh seeing it. You can't pass out at the wheel at a stoplight lol. You will be noticed.

Dodgers are going to get the N.L. West. That really sucks. Even being born there I really hate L.A. Like San Fran so much better even with it's problems to go see a game and the vibe. Chavez I will go to an Angles game before going there again.
Almost playoff time and money to burn on a vacation and a good view of a game. Nothing like playoff atmosphere and soldout stadiums.
