not always... pan foes grow randomly down here in cali... during the summertime too... i don't think subbs grow here in the summertime.

but it could be different for illinois

That is all in your head. I personally have never met a Pan foen that I didn't like.

They have been up since February in the PNW and are up in Illinois, although youtr real chance of finding any is very slim.

They do fruit in manure but not a lot and only a few per cow pie and usually the cow pies are limited. Unless yo find a large compost heap of hay and manuere and stable shavings with hickory nuts, you probably will be looking for years to come. In the fall Pluteus salicinus is in southern Illinois, Pink gills and they blue.. You would porobably find that before you find any pan subbs.

well im in northern illinois, south burbs of chicago, and i do know where there are some cows at, could a try askin the owner of the farm if i could do a scientific gathering of the mushrooms in his field?

I live in the south subs too =b. I still havent found a real nice looking mushroom, they are all the same old small short dirty-brown ones. And when I do find them, they have been aged and have black all over them.

If you find some subbs or salicinus be sure to tell me :laugh:

Yes, but gotta wait till fall for the fun salcinus D:. This will be my first season paying close attention and I plan to make sure to go out and hunt alot.

Maybe ill train my dog to hunt for salicinus :laugh:.
