Pics like this make me think that I've seen these before & figured they were Inocybe sp or another inactive, but probably not.

I see exactly what you are saying. I found a few Inocybe today that made me bend over.  Haha.  I promise you that these aren’t blue staining Inocybe.  That would be cool though!
I left the pins for another day.

Inocybes have been trolling me since my first hunt. Can never fully be sure. I usually hold it for a good minute while walking and roll the stem through my fingers. Caerulescens stems are much tougher (and of course turn blue)

I never rinse any psilocybes.  Just cut it off above the dung. If you want bring an old toothbrush/or buy new one and brush it  off.  If theres some on it

Killer find those are some chunky monkies right durr...And honestly I dont rinse cubes either especially if Im going to dry them out takes longer to dry em after you rinse em...What I do is brush em off real good break the caps up real good then string the stems like string cheese to dry em out then when I dose Ill throw em in a strainer and rinse em just a little with cold water if you are going to worry about them being clean just remember wild specimens have things the eyes cant see in em and on em but none of it will hurt you unless the specimens are beyond past their prime🀘

Enjoy them dudes they look pretty strong to me πŸ‘

finally nitro! and it sounds like u didnt have to travel that far either lol. man those inocybes... i grabbed a handful of them yesterday :mad2:. the last caerulescens i found just had a regular kinda mushroom smell to it or maybe it hadnt yet developed its aroma and i was just smelling the dirt. also, if i didnt find it in some kind of manure or somewhere manure has decomped its not a cubensis right? no matter how similar it looks to one. unless it undeniably stains which it wont, because its not a cube.

Spore prints too for identifying. Doctorghosty found cubes last season on a trail not near manure.

Same spot as yesterday. Found some much larger isolated specimens in different areas of this clearing that I def missed last time out here

This is what a prime habitat for caerulescens looks like

New spot, only found the one hiding under debris
