So I followed some shroomery advice and put at least 4qt of Rye into my tub...... Substrate depth is so thick! At the back of my mind I remmeber reading only 2" is neccesary. I put 3 1.9l jars of spawn filled up to 48oz mark and some substrate and its thick af.
lol... forgot to add liner..thats whack Maybe I can just add some tape and quicly spray paint it black. I don't want tape on the outside I want these bins lookin sharp
There must be something we can do to prevent pinning instead of putting liner, like some substrate with special solition for the sides and bttm

Light isn't the issue with liners, it's surface evaporation as tbe substrate shrinks. Your tub looks good, leave it be. Don't fuck with it and it will grow.

If you stay on top of the tub conditions there usually won’t be side pins.
Sometimes a culture just pins all over no matter what though.

I never use liners, and never really get side pins. The tub below is with no liner. Make sure when you mist, you're spraying the substrate and not walls of the tub - if you do, water trickles down the side to the bottom and creates a more favorable micro-climate, causing side pins.

Little update shot of brf>bulk APE from a vendor syringe, just cause so many right now seem to have little faith in Brf>bulk. That top right pin is growing off the liner. Got knots all over the plastic on this guy.

Thats why i like the flimsy trashbag liners over the contractor bags or thicker plastics. They stick to the sub better as it shrinks

I had the opposite problem when I used trash bags, they stuck to the walls for me. I guess it probably just depends on the type
I use clear 3 mil plastic drop cloth, they seem to like to shrink to subs in my tubs. The rolls are cheap, will line a number of tubs and are strong enough to lift the sub out for harvest time.
I would have stopped using liners all together but I had stacks of tubs with holes (traditional poly/micropore set up). I left all those behind when I moved.

Third pic is definetly reishi. If your fruiting it I would expose more of the top, leaving the couple of inches of the bag around the rim to give it a bit of a microclimate around the surface. If that just happened I've had a bunch of reishi grow through the filter. Cause I didn't want to to fruit the bags ha. Your pinks will probably need more fresh air also, it's best to fruit oysters through cuts in the bag.
Just a reminder cause I been seeing you guys... MUSHCULT IS FOR ACTIVES.
