I usually get cases of 500 for about $110ish… now they’re almost $200!!
Where do y’all get yours from? I found 300 for about 95… still searching but I have to place an order today…

Alot of people hate on them but I like the reusable ones with the thick glass.

I just bought a case of these celltreat with grip rings for $140:

It says ships in 2-4 weeks but I ordered last friday and they showed up today (6 days) using the free shipping option.
I would rather pay more for petri dishes than use vulgar-ass no pours but to each their own. Maybe for larger operations reusable no-pours are better but for my uses 500 dishes last a long time and aesthetics is a major part of this hobby for me.

Been using 3.25 oz portion cups. Have controls over a month old with no contam. They come double packaged.
I ordered 800 for 25 buck last time, 3.25, compared to like 200 for 15 the first time, 2 oz.
First one came better packaged. The second ones had some holes in the packaging. But seem to be doing fine.
Been meaning to do a write up, I even wrapped some controls with clean wrap and even the ones I didn't haven't contaminated.
80 for 500 was too much for me

I am currently testing out those 2 oz condiment cups. I poured hot right out of the package. So far so good. Its been 5 days now and no sign of contamination. I still have my fingers crossed though. I like that they are cheap and I can find them locally. If it works out, the only thing I will be purchasing from the internet are grow bags.

I tried both, I also keep the unused ones in a ziplock,with the "lock" taped over.
Those were made on 5/27 and look exactly the same today.
Like I said also I tried another cheaper brand and there were some holes in the packaging, but 10 days later still clean so we will see. First ones were double packaged nearly perfect,and easy to keep the unused containers closed. They tend to come in sleeves of about 100 so that's another thing to consider. I usually pour 200 at least at a time tho.
Also I'm using this in combination with munches blenderless LI tek and as well as The Tiger Drop. This combination is really changing stuff. I really need to do a write up!

I can fit 4 into each ziploc sandwich bag so that is what I have been doing. The lids do snap on fairly well though but the bags are for extra peace of mind.

Josex even pointed out in another thread that as an example, shrooms that have been in a bag for long periods of time can get flimsy again because of moisture,this suggest the zip lock isn't completely sealed/reliable, that's why I tape them shut. Something to consider.
And really how the unwrapped plates haven't contaminated really surprises me.
BB look at the blenderless LI tek, all it is is a lighter agar recipe pretty much if you don't use the water. U feel like softer agar breaks up so much better, so many more inoc points. I know this actually. I've been doing 1000ml water, 18g elme and lik 16.something agar. Iznyce
Feel like I just gave away everything I've been waiting to write up lol

These are the best petris hands down. No indifferent edge to where they can slip when picking up, or cause air gaps. I absolutely hate normal petri dishes.
They can also be found on shroomsupply for a little more and quick shipping, but they're well worth the cost anyway

Yeah, I think they're affected by some global supply chain issues. I originally ordered petri dishes from Global Industrial and was told I wouldn't get them until late august due to material shortages and shipping limitations so I cancelled. Although, the celltreat dishes from amazon said shipping in 2-4 weeks but like I said they came in 1 week so maybe it's an overestimation.

Like I said, the lids snap on rather well. So the ziploc is secondary. It is not like storing unwrapped plates in ziplocs although others have reported doing such. I always wrapped my plates before storing in the ziplocs.
I have been moving away from liquids. Just don't see the point when using bags. I plan on dropping a whole plate into a 3 qt bag of grain. I have tested it out before. The agar breaks up nicely in a bag. I can understand liquids for jars because you can only shake jars. Where the bags I can massage it until it is broken up and spread out to my liking.

No I feel it. Thats kinda what I was getting attho, I dont do LI, I just use a lighter agar mix and tiger drop like 3 pucks into bags. Then I break them up really good with my hands, then shake the shit out of my bags.
Good point people store agar in ziplocks untaped, although how long they may store could be up for debate, I figure the extra tape over the zip will ensure they stay forever essentially, and can be handled with a little less care also.
Only downside is I have to use 16 at a time, which actually works fine for me. Just because it's impossible to get the tape off without tearing the ziplock. I suppose I could rebag them.
The 3.25 oz are way easier to fit into a gallon ziplock, and stack pretty well in two layers of 8

I guess I should’ve included in my post that I’ve used a lot of different no pour style type deals and i tried portion cups…I don’t like any of them.. petri plates look better and easier for me to work with. I refuse to deal with those tall walls and the portion cups are so light and easily tilt over when stacked. I’ll buy petri’s for as long as I do this. No pours are not an option lol
