Bag-style growing (w/g2g tek)

Is there a bag-style growing section in the FAQ? Someone mentioned it in cult (http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=2243200&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1) and I thought it might be a good idea to have a section dedicated to bag-style growing (NOT presterilized mycobags -- if someone wants to write an FAQ on this it should probably be its own page, IMO.) The "g2g" (inoculum) method works really well, too -- I've been using it for years to do "g2g" between bags without a glovebox with no contamination. Just an idea -- if this seems like a good idea I'll certainly help out. -- Micro

Here's A Question which can be added that i was curious about.
Do you need an impulse sealer to use bags, or will other methods of closing the bags tightly work? I've seen rubber bands and other ways to close it work alright.

Cool! I'm going to try to borrow a digital camera, though, so I can take pictures, because it's a lot easier to explain things that way. I can take pictures of my casing "setup," too, if people want. (Not much of a setup, but pretty damn cheap and really effective.)

Yeah -- there are other ways to do it -- one way, I think, involved bottle-tops and stuff.... I've never done it that way, though -- I sealed them with lighters before I had my impulse sealers, so someone else would probably be better suited to write that section who has done it that way, before.

I just fold the top of the bag over and put some cloth hangers on it :P works fine.

I am willing to do this, but my camera is not one of the best, (see my grow log), the pics I take are pretty blurry. But if thats okay, ill do a pictorial.

I'm very interested in your method of g2g using bags. Please write up a bag FAQ for us all to learn from!

Sorry I've been out -- legal troubles -- I could post info, but not pictures. Meanwhile, for bag-style g2g, picture sticking a needle into a bag with some water.... If you need elaboration I will elaborate. Jars are obsolete.

Hey guys wonder if u can help, i've just started out with the whole growing thing a i was wondering u guys knew where i could get some spores locally, even if their not psychodelics, just plain old edabiles so that I can start experimenting, cause it costs quite a bit to buy them from overseas, specially if still learning man.

Hey RED STORM. To answer your question, no impuls sealer needed. Grab bag pull tigh bunch up the sides working the plastic and gathering it into your palm. Now ya need practice with this but wen you have about three inches of bag in between your hands in a quick motion twis and gather bag into one hand. This captures air. Now take P film. Grab with finger holding the bunched bag and wrap it around. Now you have a bag sealed with plenty of air all ready and shakable.
Does that make sence at all?

Um ill have pics this week, nice drawing but pics are much better. You dont need a impulse sealer, you can use zip ties too. Micro isnt it you that uses zip ties? Care to donate that pic? I can take pics of filling, cleaning, sealing, loading, innoculating, bags. I havent G2G'ed yet with bags. Now that i think about it since i pre seal i can always cut them open G2G then re-seal, call me stupid but it never dawned on me. :P I alwasy was thinking PC unsealed then allow to cool in a flowhood then G2G and seal :P a note about mycobags and your PC, a gasketless type seal is much easier to use, trying to open and close the PC with the bags is a bitch.

Can you preseal the regular ones air tight? I was wondering if they would explode since there is a special presealable version.
