Verrrrry nice. I love this idea. Harvesting can be a PITA. Last time I did shoeboxes it took waaaaay too long each flush. Even for the small flushes. But I was being kind precious about each lil mushroom.

I’ma straight savage when I harvest and subs get wrecked but I also don’t care that much. I’ve also probably more coir and cow shit than someone should, so it’s not like I’m advising anyone to go that route

Went away on vacation for a week (seems to be a common factor for success in this thread ) and came home to 5 pinning tubs doing pretty much exactly what I'd hoped I'd see. Same order as above:

FAE near the holes of my dubs appears to be suppressing the overlay. Passed a swab test but it sure doesn't look happy. Even a pin down in there:

They stock them with the surge protectors (at the same price as surge protectors). They usualy have marginal batteries, but the power conditioning (sine wave correction, voltage evening, etc) usually does wonders on low voltage electronics that are jittering from usually other motor appliances in the house (AC, fridge, your dehydrator, etc).
Yeah these things are cheap af so I guess the drivers are shit. Cool tip about the UPS! I actually have a few, gonna give that a try.

That’s not 100% true, I’ve got multiple clones from plate pins that overlay.

Yeah all the clones I took overlayed just as much as the ms grows or plates they came from.
I’m convinced that natal either overlays or pins great, and it’s all about what myc you select early on.

I don't know why I've been dragging my feet with my Nats, y'all love em so much. I have the first jars I colonized still but think I'm gonna just top fruit em with some coir and focus of taking some clones off those while I expand more uniform cultures into grain spawn.

Even the Overlay tub fruited pretty heavy but they all came from the sides until I tore the Overlay top layer off. But that was 1 time and can't be considered any kinda of evidence of anything. I think with the heavy overlays we should treat them like P. Cube from 2008 and scratch the shit out of them with a fork and cold shock them. Maybe even put them in a drip shield grow chamber

I think the overlay it's environmental. I've been running a clone lately and it only overlaid when I treated it like a cube. Now I have a tub spawned to straw manure 1/3 with a top layer of 1" coir and it looks great so far. Got a few blobs and some stuff that looks like a lot of knots. Will see in a few days what happens.

I did a small 100% sterilized straw grow. Inoculated with agar wedge. It colonized nice and formed knots and then it stalled. Grains to straw I'm sure it will work.
