Natalensis growers, try experimenting with higher temps. It can grow incredibly fast. This jar was inoculated 1week ago, and left in the sun. It's been 26-27celcius here lately. It tolerated this well, which was likely given African heritage

Yeah. I've noticed this also. At 27C they're faster than pans. Also 4 cm deep substrates perform better than deeper ones.

27C works great for fruiting not just for colonization.

I'm sorry but I've deleted all the pics. My first try with them was at 27C and for the first 4 days they grew up to about 4-5 cm. And the next morning I was shocked. 15 cm tall and dropping spores. That grow was just manure, no grains, but they lacked the potency compared to those grown with grain spawn.

Much faster. Full canopy of big fruits and 5 flushes. So... You get Kind of the same results using half the resources. Maybe I exaggerated a bit saying better but definetly not worst. Actually it is better considering that you can make 2 trays / tubs with the same material used for one with a deeper sub. Maybe it was the culture but I don't think so. All my first trials were with MS. Inoculated with the germination plate.

Need a side by side. I will be fruiting them in a colder room as well (17-21c) and share finds

I still think these would do great in 1020 trays with dome lids

Super interesting about the thinner subs. I'm absolutely going to have to try this for my next round.
D3, are those the standard seedling trays with the clear dome lids?

Correct, I havenโt tried them yet but betting work great. Also, those small waste basket liners offices have are a perfect size for those trays. Can slide the whole tray into bag or just lay over tray. I snagged a roll from work to try and they where perfect

I may have to give them a try. I'm guessing you're totally right and that they'd work well. Perfect depth too. It's nice you can change the airflow on them by opening or closing those little circular things.

And if you packed level to top of tray you could run a breadknife down it and get a perfectly flush trim
