Selling at a loss is not a bad play if youve made profit elsewhere and want to offset the capital gains tax with the loss.

Especially if you buy it again at the same or lesser price. Unlike traditional stocks you can sell at a loss and immediately buy it again and take it as a Capitol gains loss.

Hikeadellic said: I got rugpulled on ICP too, I will not sell it at a loss and am perfectly comfortable holding until 0 or 500
I might join you on 10 ICP @ $10
I have noticed the term rugpull is now often used when people buy a crypto that depreciates rapidly in price. ICP, despite losing a ton of value, is not a "rugpull"
A real rugpull is when a dev team pulls the majority of the liquidity in an LP pair
Here's a longer description
Quote:
A rug pull is a malicious maneuver in the cryptocurrency industry where crypto developers abandon a project and run away with investors’ funds. Rug pulls usually happen in the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, especially on decentralized exchanges (DEXs), where malicious individuals create a token and list it on a DEX, then pair it with a leading cryptocurrency like Ethereum.
Once a significant amount of unsuspecting investors swap their ETH for the listed token, the creators then withdraw everything from the liquidity pool, driving the coin's price to zero. The coin’s creators may even create a temporary hype around Telegram, Twitter, and other social media platforms and initially inject a substantial amount of liquidity into their pool to cultivate investor confidence.
Rug pulls thrive on DEXs because these types of exchanges allow users to list tokens for free and without audit, unlike in centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. Furthermore, creating tokens on open source blockchain protocols like Ethereum is easy and free. Malicious actors use these two factors to their advantage.

Wow, had I know this I would have never have purchased this in the first place. Maybe I will sell after all.

I had a change of heart regarding MINA.
I put €177.5 in, got €253 out.
I counted my blessings and withdrew €200 (thereby taking a 12.7% profit) so that I took the money I put in + profit, back AND now have €53 worth of MINA for FREE.
That takes all the stress out of that.

Dude, get some new bearish material already, that's very old news in crypto land.
Trading in a Risk Management Department for a Propaganda Department might not have been a good choice, I'm afraid.

Tether has been a bit more shady with audits in the past, but I've been hearing the same FUD about tether for 3-4 years now.
Try to separate what Tether tells you from what they actually do. Note their creative use of legal jurisdictions and minimal reporting. It's a Rube Goldberg to...replicate dollars. There's so much potential for funny business here, don't fool yourself with some story about FUDs not being all over it for the last few years.
A game like crypto needs greater fools. If a bunch of faces get ripped off (i.e. they buy crap and the world sees clearly that they lost royally on a trade) it's going to be really, really hard to conjure up the greater fools. Don't get romantic about creative destruction and 'better tech', e.g. ETH or whatever, if you have a great mass of bagholders and a an army of silly solutionism pushers finding new suckers won't be easy and then the game stops.

I have a hot tip:
Shiba Inu is gonna finish Shibaswap soon, together with their listing to coinbase. They just confirmed partnership with an oracle coin, Unification´s Xfund. Supply of Xfund is only .... 8880!! And the marketcap on this gem is still tiny.
You can buy $Fund, and stake it on their desktopwallet, and farm Xfund. For every 100k fund, you get 1 Xfund per month. 100k fund right now if around 10k $.Thats one mighty apy, you got your initial investment back in 3 months!
Fund: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/unification/ Xfund: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/xfund/ Partnership confirmed: https://twitter.com/ShytoshiKusama/status/1408105085490528258 Unification: https://unification.com/
I have around 30k $Fund staked, everything works fine. These 2 really have potential, i feel.

I've had 1500 bucks in SHIB AMM liquidity pool for a few months now. Makes me anywhere from 5-40 bucks every day doing nothing.

Looks like a slow bleed out. Think the surge is over for the time being. Whatever, missed my sell points on MIOTA, XLM, and OMG
Actually didn’t even miss them, they passed my sell targets but I was greedy and wanted moon profits. Could still sell for minor gain on these, but I think am better off not doing jack shit
