Is straw from barley, oats, flax, etc. okay for substrate?

I know everyone talks about wheat straw as the main type of straw as a substrate, but what about straw from other grains? or even straw that is a mixture of all types of grains?

Yes, that should work fine. Just make sure there are no seeds or anything. Straw is just the dried stalk portions from the plant. Sometimes people confuse straw and hay.

Any more opinions anyone? Are there properties of wheat straw that are preferred for mushroom culture over other straws like barley, oats, flax, etc.
