I found these growing in the grass in NJ. They have light brown gills with white edges. The spore print i took came out a light purplish grey (not a dark black). The stems are pretty sturdy, but hollow inside. The stems also appear to have a slight white fuzz up near the cap. I also noticed what i thought to be blue bruising on the stem.
Are all brown sporeprints easily distinguishable from blacks? Are there any tricks to get a definite ID on spore color, or does that just come with experience? Aside from using a microscope, which i don't have.
