sandman420 said: Those wacky chinese! What will they think of next. I wonder if you put a amp meter on it how much it's really drawing. What kind of elements does it have, like water heater type? They probably say on them how many watts they are.
If it was truly designed for 110v 6kw, that would be 7.139KW at 120v 59.49 friggin amps!!@!! and trip a 40amp breaker in 2 seconds. It would need 4 awg wire to be safe. There is no way. Chinese...Your house only has 100 or 200 amp service lol.
If you are not tripping a 40 amp 120v breaker on this it is under 4.2kw no question about it. They just mislabeled it because Chinese factories can be unscrupulous. Who ever heard of that? It is physically impossible to run a 40 amp 120v breaker continuously over 4.2kw. Max Continuous is 85% rating, it can only do full rating for 15 minutes per hour if I'm not mistaken. Any more than that would trip a 40 amp breaker.
Here is a photo of the heating element. Ignore the red squares. I'm going to purchase a meter from Amazon and see what's up.

yo darren did you ever find out how many amps that thing is pulling? I'm so curious.

I have no idea.. I just got It today.. It's well built machine.. Nothing like my 2mm. 30.00 dollar sealer..
I tried pulling the seam apart on my sample spawn bag.. No way you can pull the seam apart.
It cost me 12.00 dollars to have It delivered to my door, here In Mexico and It was fast...
They delivered It 2 days earlier than what they quoted..

I took a little time out this morning to give anyone interested in the linsnField 5mm. wide seal a comparison to the cheap 2mm. wide seal impulse sealer.
The 30.00 dollar 12" long 2mm.seal width weighs 3.5 lbs.
The 99.00 dollar 12" long 5mm.seal width weighs 9.1 lbs. (big difference)

The transformer on 2mm. 30.00 dollar model

The transformer on 5mm. 99.00 dollar model

The LinsnField has a much heavier power cord and fuse holder for extra protection.

The heat seal strip is screwed down and not hanging on a hook with a spring. (new Improvement)

The LinsnField has a overheating shutdown to protect the transformer. You may have to wait a few minutes before the transformer kick back on.
I tested the sealer at level 2 and It had a nice looking seal but pulled apart.
I tested the sealer at level 3 out of 1 to 8 and It gave me a strong seal on my Unicorn spawn bag with the .05 filter patch..
Once again 99.dollars free shipping at Amazon..

I only have trouble sealing bags post PC with my modest 5mm unit. 2mm are a scourge. Maybe I should upgrade to the fancy pants one with the lock etc.

If you can afford it the magnetic hold down AIE-305HIM sealer (or 405 for straight sealing) is the best thing since sliced bread. It saves so much effort. That seal texture on the LinsnField looks really cool though. It has a cooler texture on the kevlar sheet.

I agree with you. That's the one I wanted (AIE-305HIM) I just couldn't justified the cost.
I think the LinsnField should be a decent price for people like me that looking for a 5mm. wide seal..

Learned this the hard way. I spent about 60 bucks on a higher wattage model but didn't know I should be checking for 5mm vs 2mm at the time. Complete waste of money, it doesn't seal the bags. Back to zip ties.

Dry the bags in front of a flowhood after sterilizing so that they seal properly and the moisture doesn't fuck it up

So the 305 is 12" and the 405 is 16". Gotta double check but I presume 12" will do. Should I just pay the extra 50 and go big?
The moisture is on the inside of the bag Vinci that and grain chaff etc.

Do you preseal? My bags don't get moist on the inside top. I have the 405, you can seal with one gusset open, which is nice for resealing bags. I really wish I had got the magnetic one though. I also wish I got one size bigger too so I could seal with both gussets open. Regardless, the 12" one will seal 3T bags no problem and I'd upgrade to a magnetic 12" before upgrading to a 16"

Yeah man, I got the 16 and it's awesome. It takes up a lot of space but I like to straight seal my bags, it will come in handy when running xls.

Argh.
My grandfather always used to say our family is too poor to buy cheap tools. Should have listened the first time. I will be throwing my junk sealer in the trash and buying one of these.
