Filing Lawsuits Against Tech Organizations and Governments * 1
    #27347786 - 06/14/21 10:18 AM (2 years, 9 months ago)

How many of you feel that the internet and ALL software-inclusive technology is in-secure AND it is causing very negative vibes? I propose some of us consider filing lawsuits against tech companies and multiple governments for falsely telling us we are secure, among other things.

What legitimate, effective lawsuits do you believe we could put together?
Which attorneys would actually be effective and fructiferous?

bad opsec is the main problem, the pipeline dude clicked on random porn sent to his email, thats like literally the lowest bar, shouldnt be looking at porn, or even any email you dont immediately recognize on hardware that connects to critical infrastructure

im not a pro, but if I had a computer job, I would buy a cheap laptop to do personal stuff and use a work computer only for work

I think invasion of privacy is the most appalling and horrific thing in the universe (I may sound exaggerating but I'm not, not really.)

Let's say you had an "enemy". Wouldn't it be rather more correct to leave them alone, then if they said something to you on the street, and you got in a fight that would be normal..

But instead you wanna go in their personal life or something and then find an enemy?

Sorry it makes no sense.

So yeah I find the present state pretty bad...

Swing2, tell me this: Do you feel secure in your possessions, secure in your general privacy, secure in your files and papers, and secure in your home - digitally speaking?

you might wanna star with switching from google to startpage or something, I use duckduckgo, but the thing is the guy who started ddg, used to make mad money from selling peoples info, so he either had a huge change of heart, or ddg is the sneakiest scam ever

Startpage?
Protonmail is good, I think.

I am pretty sure they "shut down" my phone or something like that.

As long as power is hidden and corrupt there's major issues.

So yeah I agree with the thread.

So far I have been a fan of protonmail, for email. It seems to be encrypted, free, etc. I don't think it's on the same order of Anom, but that kinda pisses me off too.

cock.li is another good email, but they shutdown registration due to glowies, and said it was going to be invite only in the future, but now they are back open without the invite thing, so thats kinda sketchy

Yeah I realized protonmail days it's from Switzerland. If that is true it doesn't seem like it would be bad.

Seems like social media is just email with more features. Not sure why someone couldn't just write an app that uses Post Office Protocol to replace all of them.

youd need to prove that a specific company is using bad practices, it would be very hard to do, if you hang around in the developer and sysadmin subreddits, you will see many posts like;

Quote:

it finally happened, some major issue I warned management weeks/months/years ago and they brushed off effected us

maybe if you could get someone in one of those positions to show bad practice in a specific company, but even then I doubt it, the companies are probably doing the minimum required by law, even if its not enough

I like the idea of sueing tech companies and governments. But I think they'll just laugh and continue with whatever they want to do. Nothing will change. I sued a government official and it was money thrown out of the window.

What we need is a hacker group taking care of things in a positive kind of way. Or a strong solar storm.

I think they are begging for extra, new, and un-heard of attention. What type of court was utilized for your case?
