I made two new shoeboxes completely identical on 6/6 & looks like one is contaminated... each box has 4 BRF jars, 1:2 CVG.
My own home made MSS. While shredding to bulk all 8 jars are looked fine and smelled good.
Both boxes side by side.
This one looks normal.
Maybe the start of trich? Or is it just colonizing at a faster rate? Should I toss just in case?

That's correct multispore syringe (MSS). This is probably my 12th shoebox I made with my own syringes and this is the first time I've seen it get all thick.
Reminds me of my PF TEK days when I first experienced trich. Looked like white mycelium at first then turned green...
I'm not too too worried but I'll keep my eye on it.

Cut and patch? [Re: Kizzle]

Has anyone had success with cutting out and patching areas of Trichoderma? I had a small corner affected so I flame sterilized a knife and cut it out. I also made sure to cut about a half inch around the affected area and clean that area of the container with a lysol wipe. I then filled the missing gap with pasteurized CVG. Has any one tried this with any success?

you gotta catch it very early or its already spread its spores around.
i've taken my trays and cut off half before. they are 10x20 inches, and one end had some trich. i didnt cut off the trich parts only, but a huge portion of my sub, and its only worked a couple times for me.
Most of the time the whole thing is already contaminated and the trich shows up later.

Its a very small container and the trich wasnt there before bed last night. It showed up 8 hours later. I hope I caught it early enough. I guess all I can do now is keep it separated and see what happens?

How concerned should I be about these bright clumps of mycelia? I gather a healthy tub won't have thick lumps like that, and it's definitely concerning that they've got an orange/red tint now. But it looks like it may just be metabolites. They aren't trich because it's been 4-5 days without fast spread, and no green.
(I think the coir top-layer didn't colonize evenly because it was too thick and dried out too much. It's recovering.)

Letting contamination run until current flush is done? [Re: Kizzle]

Does anyone let their contam tubs run until the current flush they are on finishes? I recall some trusted moderator recalling a professional grow where there was trich on the wood shelves they used. And noted that if the other substrates were healthy their was not much to worry about. I fear 1 tub may contam 16. Though it hasn’t yet.

I will if it's a relatively epic pinset. Just don't take prints or swabs from those specimens.

Contamination with wet spot? First pf-tek jar ever [Re: Kizzle]

From the 6 jars I have inoculated with a GT-spore syringe, three weeks ago, 4 seem to be inactive and 2 are showing growth. Of the 2 with small mycelium one has a brown-greyish substance at the bottom, which looks for me a bit like bacillus contam. It has been there since I started checking them and it has not changed/grown in the last weeks. I kinda hope it's just a clump of brf...
Pics 1+2 are from ten days after inoculation, pics 3+4 are from three weeks after.

Can anyone help? Block was put into fruiting 3 weeks after liquid PE spore syringe inoculation. This is day 5 of fruiting and I am seeing some discoloration on the sides. Pressure was applied to block when put into chamber. Is this bruising or contam or what is going on with our block?? It is in a monotub without holes, but is aired out for 5 minutes with a small fan and misted with distilled water 3 times a day. Thanks for any help, TwoTails

What is that block made of? You said you inoculated with spores so right there that's not good right away. Also monotubs work when you spawn in them like all the teks here show. Your system seems extremely flawed. Are you leaving the lid flipped upside down or completely closed when not airing out or misting?
I can't tell if that's mold or not but it's definitely in really rough shape.

It came from an all-in-one grow bag with Rye Berries, Straw, Manure all sterilized. How is my tek flawed? Using the monotub tek without the holes in the side. We flip the lid and air out and mist 3 times a day. The lid stays closed otherwise.

I've just never seen that as a tek. Doesn't look like the best results either. I've seen alot of people Fruit the all in one's in the bag just make fae holes.
That tub looks to dry to me. And definitely isn't getting enough fae with the lid closed all the time. Monotubs have holes in the side with polyfill or micropore tape. Your doing more of an unmodded tub. Your surface conditions look to be ultra dry. Got to dial those in.
If that was mine I would get a rack to set that on and fill the bottom of the tub with about an inch of water (rack would keep it out of the water) and leave the lid flipped upside down for fae. Search for what's called a humidity chamber if you're interested in that idea. Otherwise I really don't know what to tell ya other then next time follow an established tek.

The patches are now redder with metabolites, and more consolidated looking. But not taking over the tub:

Thanks. I haven't heard about this type of mutation. I'll keep my eyes open for more info on that topic in this thread and related threads. (It does sort of remind me of a mycelial representation of cancer, which is not a pleasant thought.)

Hey fellas of all gendas
This doesn't look right to me and if it's something that will sporulate and totally fuck my house,
I have 22 in one room and 3 left in another. I have the two pictured next to me at the kitchen table.I haven't checked the big number.
I'm running around with ny hair on fire because I don't know if I should hurry to get them out of the house before the spores go everyfuckingwhere. Or if it's too late.
Or if it's nothing but this sure doesn't look it to me. I've been in and out of these two boxes all day pulling fruits. I wanted to get them before sporulation.
Can any of you guys help me soonish? Fuck noobism is pain. I gotta check surface conditions in the res of the boxes But I'll favorite this thread to get notifications, in case I get lucky and one of you can get back to me while I'm in there.
I see the defined rhizomorphs but I think I MAY be looking at cobweb with that fine mesh and in close looks like it's overgowing the maturing pins. The close shots are hard to get but I can use the Canon if you say you need to see macro.
