So planning on 2 weeks an hour and a half from Phoenix to hike Superstition Mountains.  Has intrigued me.  Going to L.A. and the beach before but always plan on two trips during the warm months that covid wiped out last year.

So researching it they say it floods in July and August.  So early September on this one.  Anyone been there?  I know it is really hot in the day and really cold at night but am more concerned about other things like it is not exactly the Grand Canyon with endless tourists.

Trails end and easy to get lost.  Plus one on my biggest fears is scorpions for some odd reason.  Just don't know how painful and if I could hike if stung and of course one making it's way into my tent and sleeping bag.

Dumb fear but some paid traveler guide that is a desert guy as he put it and spent his life mostly in Arizona said that is one place he would never travel.  For the murders and the Natives he says still guard certain places.  How some never come back.

Am open to adventure and exploring and will take my chances.  If I see weird shit or feel threatened whatever, I survive.  Water is everything.  If anyone has been there would be interested in one's experience.

Maybe Goldtown as well a bit out of the way.  Classical music to this not by me just some paved roads and...just want to go have my pack and tent and pay my rent and leave but come back to my apartment.

And will do that.  A destination and then a return.  Means so much when the wilderness is your home for a long time.  From choice, not fleeing for the long arm of the law, lol.

I lost my smartphone playing softball.  I can get one right away if I choose but it is like a freedom that, I am kind of glad not having one.  Not that I lost it but I realized how much attention I gave to it.

The break is nice.  And no one being able to contact me except through e-mail at this time.  But places I am going will have a break from it as well.  By choice.  Just tunes one into nature and the skies.

Can let it go for a bit.  Threw my half man tent away as I hated it.  So tent, bag, threw that out as well, taking inventory.  And goo for my my feet, that shit took forever to heal but one learns, and on with it.

Makes me laugh watching vids while I wait and it is like, it was at 5,000 elevation.  Blah.  Still I went to the Himalayas and Everest and paid 30 grand.  Great for you.  I hike and camp and don't need it.

Not better than anyone.  Just be in shape and learn.  Is not difficult.  But yeah.  Get the oxygen tanks at some levels.  10,000 and a bit above is what I am fine with.  Feel that urge that hikers get to get on the trail and go and planning is boring but necessary.

Enjoy your Summer and Fall hikers and campers.  We lost the last one but is time for this.

Will research it.  Thanks for the advice.  I enjoy caves as well.  Are you familiar with any around there?  The mines look crazy dangerous.

Made me laugh as not something to worry about in Arizona.  Just read a headline on the national news that just read, campers attacked by bear in tent.  That was the headline.  I had a black bear within inches of me camping and this was in the Pacific Northwest off the PCT wanting my food.  If it was a grizzly, would of been bad.  Is like a gigantic dumb dog lol.

Arizona will be a new experience.  Planning on September after the two rain months.  And of course not hiking in 117 degree weather.  It's beach and my birthplace of L.A. for now.  Getting that wanderlust feeling.

The new normal is amusing to me.
