No fruiting but cakes brittle now
    #27347410 - 06/14/21 12:16 AM (2 years, 9 months ago)

I put my BRF cakes in the Shotgun Fruiting Chamber 15 days ago, they haven't fruited yet, but there's something i expect after they took 3 months to colonize fully.

But today I tried picking up one of the cakes to check if they the bottom was water logged, but I just ended up breaking a piece off. It's too brittle and soft to hold its own weight. Is that expected? They were fine before.

Doesn`t sound good.
After 3 months of colonizing you should have had invitro pins,
or cakes hard as a rock.
Provide some pictures, but i don`t guess you`ll see any fruits.

3 months.... what size were the jars?

Normally half pints 8oz jars are fully colonized in about 4 weeks give or take 2 weeks.

3 months is over-due.

Try to water, but if the cakes are breaking apart, the mycelium might be too dry to save.

It`s from the other thread.
Are the jars ready to birth?

Half pints, and they were bacterial there.

Yes it's from that thread. However I doubt that they were bacterial, that yellow discharge was actually just on the walls cake came out white when birthed.

But I think something went wrong long ago. If they don't fruit then that's it for my growing journey 😂😅
