How many days since casing is this?
I agree it doesn't look very bad at all. But if it's like 2 days after casing it might just keep growing.

That's what happened with my Nec D grow that eventually turned into this...

This was literally hours before moving out of my house, so I never got to run a 2nd flush from it. The JCM FC was the very last thing I packed

Just when I thought I may have ruined pinning cause of using manure as a casing. looks like some decent pins on some trays. This is the first time ive tried an automated martha, controlling humidity, temp and air exchange through inkbird devices and a smart plug for the lights and fans.

This is an awesome thread, a lot of good info. But for my first Pan Cyan grow I would be much more comfortable to follow a detailed, approved tek.

Is there one that you guys would recommend for shoeboxes?

Unfortunately I don't think there is a tek for shoeboxes around. They aren't ideal.

For the most simple method I think pan-cakes are it, but there are a few ideas out there for simplified fruiting chambers. I don't think there are any no tech, but some are lower tech than others.

The best place to start is probably here, a great read from Asura:

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26524100

which will have links to Mary Fairchild, Blue Helix, JOC, Macmerdin, and Angam who all have tested and detailed methods listed.

Of course you can try, but I wouldn't waste your time or resources. I did one shoe box when I first started and got lucky with a low yield, then the rest failed and lots of effort went to waste. Personally, I've settled on spawning to pasteurized dung with some chopped straw in,, in trays, in a humid, hot grow chamber. I use a tent with heat mats in and a humidifier.
It's taken a while to get the heat and humidity just right, but it's been worth the wait. Good luck

I’d recommend going with the Jambos for a first grow if you can get a print. Those have been way easier and more aggressive than all the others I’ve done.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I saw that post, awesome write up. The thing is that I will probably not be able to convince my girl to set up a tent somewhere in our two room apartment. That sucks. So I was hoping that there is another approved two around that maybe does something like SGFC or some smaller grow room setup. If anybody could link to anything I would be more than grateful.

Don't convince her, just empty your wardrobe and build it. Throw away all your clothes if you have to.

Thank you so much everyone for sharing the low tech approaches. Can anyone comment on this one? I think it looks promising, but am pretty much a noob when it comes to Pan cyans.

If you have to make do with low tech and already got a SGFC then go for it. Maybe consider MacMerdin pan cakes.
He uses a SGFC as well, his thread is still very active and you will get support there even when you do trays, I would definitely go and ask
for advice over there.
