They are made for small engines so they may be unable to detect FFU fan vibration, but at less than $10 I may give it a try.
(I was surprised that I could not find a simple plug-in pass-through hours meter for AC appliances.)

What purpose would it serve?
I could see using it for more precise filter changing.

Oh, gotcha. I use a cheap vaneometer for that. It’s a better way to go vs hrs because you’re measuring the actual airflow. As the filter gets clogged, the airflow goes down and eventually below minimum threshold and needs to be replaced. An hour meter is always just you guessing and either still using a bad filter, or getting rid of one that still has life in it.

It would just be nice to know how many total hours the thing has been running. It might be useful to remember to change the prefilter.
Knowing how much I use the FFU will also help me to know if I was a dummy or not for buying it, haha.

Has anyone ordered a FFU direct from the manufacturer? What's the process of requesting a quote like? Will they sell to individuals, or only businesses?

I'm pretty sure they have prices listed like any other online retail store. No need to bid.

Yeah, websites like aliababa are made for this. You're generally going to be ordering from China though. You usually get a personal salesperson that will help you through the process, pretty efficient.

I was referring to a US manufacturer. They don't list prices.

I asked about a unit on Alibaba and it was like $150 and got a quote back and it was around $400 in shipping, so that would make it the same price as on Amazon around $500 still, at the end of the day.

Bought this bad boy locally Hopefully no more contamination.

Do i need to make box or some structure around it ? or just use it as it is like you said in orignal post. Inner net is 56X56 CM and overall dimension is 66x66CM.

Fan Filter Unit from local manufacturer. He used frame from positive pressure module. I told him i'm gonna use it for mushroom cultivation. He have promised it'll work for it and tissue culture. I had doubt if flow will be laminar or not but he have promiosed it will be laminar., i asked him to add speed controller. I checked here locally almost every laminar flow hood have frame like that. Filter is HEPA H13 , pre filter , blower 90 fpm.
Here's technical details.

For reference this is how its look in laminar flow hood.

Got it. I wouldn’t expect great results without the hood, but test it and see. Worst case scenario you just add a hood. In the pic, is that a UV lamp inside with no front swing shield? If so, that’s terrifying!
