I wish I would’ve spent on an FFU back when I did my hood. Next time for sure.

Been using a 2x2' FFU for the past 6 weeks. Zero mask. Just gloves + rubbing alcohol. Really nice when it's 80F in the room and instead of sweating balls with a SAB, I have a fan blowing on my face. So far very little contamination, nothing out of the norm (95% of my bags/bottles have been good).

How small of a space can you run a FFU in? Does it matter?
Could I run one inside something like a 5x5 grow tent with the door zipped up and all the vents sealed except one with a prefilter or would the flowhood need more air?

If using a ffu in a 5x5, you can have all the doors zipped up and all the vents and ports closed. The seal is imperfect around where the tent zippers and around where the vents are velcroed. Atleast that is the way I run my lab anyway. A 5x5 is a bit tight. I actually moved from a 4x8 to a 5x10 in order to have a little more space.

At least with mine in a 4x8 sealed grow tent, it considerably increases the temperature I'd say by about 10 degrees in my experience while it's running, the tents are nice for concealing the lab space, for easy clean up, but the downfall is they get hot without a little inline fan exhausting the heat, but that's an easy fix!

Yep big HEPA filters make a considerable amount of heat, something like 1600 btu on a 24*24.

I will admit they do get a bit warm. In the winter it isn't bad at all but in the summer it does get a bit uncomfortable at times. If its really warm outside, I can only handle like a 1.5 hour session in there. I typically work from 6 PM to 4 AM so I do almost all of my work in the morning hours while the temps are lower.

got this 2x4 for 550 bucks shipped. and i definitely can relate to getting hot when its running i always either do my work in the morning or late night, i have pretty compact setup tho, fruiting, colonization, and agar work happens in this 4 1/2' x 8' building. ive got about as much exhaust as i can get in there lol, its tight but when i organize and put my bottom shelf in i have fit 12 full size monos (underbed boxes) and about 40 jars and all my other cult related items in here.
