In the vast wilderness of my front yard.
    #2731862 - 05/26/04 01:21 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I found these! Curious on what they are and if they're active or not.

I'm taking a spore print now to see what color it is. I live in southeast Michigan. Lots of rain for the past week. High humidity. 70-80 temp.

They've been out there for a few days now and I've just been walking past them and then I finally decided to post here to see if they're of any use to me before I mow down my lawn.

Thanks in advance.

Hey man that's a good question as to what those are, I live in West Michigan and have found about 10 Pan-subs (varified by the experts here) and those little buggers that you found have all sorrounded them!
I picked some and posted yesterday and all I got was that they were some sort of sub, non-active unfortunatly!

Just found about two dozen of those and two pan subbs. Those are everywhere. They live in my uncared for lawn in clover patches! Don't eat- make me fart much. I've heard diareah- but farts for me. If one could find subs growing in the same numbers, we'd all be frying too hard to post.

Normally I don't read this forum as I've never tried hunting. Sorry if it was discussed before. Hard to do a search with shroom IDing. I just wondered after many days of seeing them.

Thanks to everyone.

Looks to me like Pan. Foen., but you never know. Tell us what the spore print is; it should turn up brown. Examine it closely to see if it is black or brown; a nice light can make all the difference. Oh well, these mushrooms can be decieving so I suggest looking hard at these. It may just be me, but at first glance the stem seemed to be thicker (in comparison to the cap) than the typical P. Foen. I tend to find. Either way, tell us what the print is.

well, ive been findin a lot of sub pans and sub foes this past 3 days, i also live in south east michigan. in fact the landscape you have in that picture is exactly the same as the landscape i found both mine in. those are most likly foes. but the spore print will tell all.... personally. foes are slightly active (from my own knowledge)+ the knowlege of a few readings and books. but many people will argue that. but the foes cannot hurt either way, so dont throw them away.
