I would like to know which coco coir brand European shroomery members use, at my local pet store i can only find 3 brands.. 1. TRIXIE brand (650g) 2. JBL- Terra coco humus (600g) 3. Repti Planet (635g)
I know eco earth is more or less standard in this hobby but its unavailable here.
Cheers!

I always weigh them, they often differ. But that doesn`t matter. Throw in some verm or squeeze.

yeah, you have to adjust the amount depending on your coir. I remember when i started and tried 5 liter for one block of coir per bods instructions Didnt work out to well.
Try ebay, i can get almost everything from there.

I once got this one:

Looks like a bog, but i love it for the drain valve. I push down another bucket on top to release excess moisture.
Sorry for

ah sorry, i remembered it wrong. There was a 5 in my mind. Just the wrong unit. Still to much. I multiply by 3.25, so I use 2 quarts per 650g. Otherwise its to wet. Weird, that you can use 3 quarts. Should be the same coir.

Trixie it is for me. Never had issues and its cheap af. You can get the huge 60L brick from Amazon for like 13€.
Also never seen it pre-contaminated with the white fuzz some one here have experienced with other coir.

This growth is done with trixie coir, decent coir for sure. I switched to JBL TerraCoco. For me JBL holds more water and overall quality of coir is greater then trixie and others i tried

Good stuff as said before. Reptile stuff or for terrarium in general i always prefer.

Can happen with any coir brand. Everything can be the carrier of mold, even plastic.
