Pressure cooker

Hey everyone I’m new to this forum, Quick question about pressure cookers; I purchased a 15L one around a month ago from eBay and it only reaches a psi of around 11-12. The packaging says it is able to reach a psi of 23 before reaching relief pressure. The jiggler weight says it’s a 80kpa weight which is 11.6 psi. So I’m planning on getting a new weight for the pressure cooker to allow it to reach 15psi, have any of you guys replaced ur weight before and are they generally compatible with most pressure cookers? I’m in au and can’t find any replacement weights except for vintage mirro pressure cooker weights from the us. Do you guys think this would work for my pressure cooker? I’ve included photos of the current weight below.

This is the weight I’m wondering if it would be compatible with, these seem to be the only ones available to me.

Honestly i wouldn´t give a pressure canner more pressure than it was designed for. People add some little weight to their rockers to not let them rattle at 15psi steadily. You should reach ~242°F anyway, just add some more time for sterilizing i`d suggest. I wouldn`t risk building a bomb

Yeh I agree with goatrider, be careful of modifying any kind of pressure vessel, it has a rating for a reason.

Hmm yeah I’ve looked at the specs, and contacted the seller, it can cook at 15 psi, the weight on it is just heavy enough for 11.6psi, also safety valve will release pressure once it reaches 21 psi. Was just wondering if these other weights are compatible with my pressure cooker.

Ah i see. Then get some weight on and control with the gauge. Seller was private or company? Just for safety

Do they say they're compatible? If they don't then don't use them. Pretty simple shit.
If the manufacturer of your cooker doesn't sell a 15 psi weight then there's none to be found

To get from 11.6 PSI to 15 PSI pressure without changing the hole the steam is coming out of, you need to increase the mass of the weight by 29% (just under one-third more). See if you get lead tape from a store that sells fishing gear. (It is used to hold a line down on the bottom and a hook with a float drifting upwards maybe ten or twenty feed above the bottom--whatever you choose.)
You just need to measure the mass of your weight (if you don't have a gram scale take your weight to the grocer and weigh it on his scale). Then multiply that number of grams by 0.29 and you'll get how many grams of lead tape you will need to increase the mass of the weight 29%.
Higher force blocking the venthole, higher pressure in the PC. Be aware that lead is toxic, so don't set it down on any cookware or dishes.

Can you unscrew the red plastic tip? If so you could put some washers over the thread and screw the plastic back on. I did this with my presto weight and added 16g. Now the weight jiggles at 17.5 psi.
