Cabela's 160L Questions (aint doing SHIT!!!)

Hi all,
I recently snagged a Cabela's 160L dehydrator in an emergency situation, and the darn thing won't even heat up to 100F (it's set for 160F). I don't hear the fan turning on either. I'm starting to panic because I already left these in the fridge overnight too. Is this normal? I assume it takes awhile for the temp to equalize, but I ran it all night last night and it was still only 100F this morning. Would really appreciate any tips or insights. It doesn't seem like anything's really drying. The bottom metal plate is super hot though so I can only assume it's trying it's best, and I'm not running anything else on that circuit.
TIA, sorry just a little bit frazzled over this. It was the last one at the store and it was a 2 hour drive so I'd hate to return it.

Is it full? It's only 1600 watts. It takes a LOOOONG time to bring all that water inside up to temp.

Do you have the back a couple inches away from the wall? Did you test it before putting everything in?

Yeah it's just sitting in the middle of carpeted room. This morning after seeing almost no progress I propped it up on some spare wire rack shelves after realizing there's like maybe a vent or intake or something down there ( ), so it's a good inch of the carpet now at least. I did not test it first, was in a dumb rush. But the plate is hot to the touch, feels like 180F+, so I assume the other poster must be right and it just takes awhile, and I'm sure my shitty packing job didn't help. I guess I just had higher expectations for this beastly looking thing

It should be up off the ground. Mine came with casters (wheels). If you fill it very full with cold fungus, it will take a while to get to temp. But like an hour or three, not overnight. Kinda sounds like the heating element is working but the fans aren't.

there is no fan movement that I can hear whatsoever, I meant to mention that. It's completely silent, can you hear yours when it's running? the little blue fan display is always on, but there's no noise. beautiful picture by the way
and yeah mine has wheels too, i was just in a hurry when setting it up. thansk for the help, if the fans no working i may be SOL unless another local retailer carries one. I've watched tons of videos now, and i don't think im doing anything wrong, but there's no trick to get the fan running is there?

if its in an airtight room in will not work like this. It needs to be in a ventilated garage type area.
You are trying to evaporate 50 lbs of water or more ffs...Thats like 7 gallons or more of water.
But I think it should have a fan going. No fan going means there is a problem with the fan or controller.

please don't discount the idea that I may done something dumb or I'm having an oversight, but afaik the fan should 'just work'.
anyway, I'm not much an electrical guy (that's why I bought this sucker). I'll pop the back panel off, but if there's any easy spot to check for a blown fuse or bad wiring that you're aware please lmk. I see that above the middle fan column there's a weird little black thing, not sure what that's doing. I'd post a pic if it wasn't such a hassle.

Maybe the excellent MrHyde can you explain the operating procedure precisely for this model since I don't have it. But when it's going the fan should be on for sure. So either you don't have it set right somehow, or there are some parts that need service or hopefully just a tripped fuse.

There is a fuse/breaker switch on the back near the power cord. The air intake is on the bottom of the unit. If you had it on direct on the carpet you might have blocked it off. I really don't know beyond that. Mine has always just worked the way you'd expect it to. If you just bought it yesterday I'd say call cabela's.

pushing the fuse / breaker didn't do anything so I'm making a speed run to return. Mr.Hyde, does your fan only turn on after the '20min warm up period', or does it turn on immediately?
anyway, thanks for all the help! bringer her back now for a replacement so hopefully I have some cracker dry shrooms tomorrow

It runs at a much lower speed while getting up to temperature, but it should always be humming.
