Eye think that would be too loud and possibly too much air exchange.
The idea sounds interesting but impractial. Maybe I am not picturing it right.
Could you draw us a diagram? Perhaps a different type of fan would be better.

Its sounds very cool IMO. As I understand it the vacuum cleaner intake is mounted on Eye's rubbermaid, is it mounted high or low? I guess what I'm asking is: is it mounted low to suck out CO2 and the "inlet" high to draw in fresh air or the reverse? How many rubbermaids are connected?

All this suddenly made me think of 1 rubbermaid with a humidifier and an inlet joined to X ammount of other rubber maids (with no secondary  inlets) all conected to a pipe circuit with a vacuum cleaner motor spliced in as you describe. Now if both the VC motor and the humidifier were on timers at certain times the vacuum cleaner could suck in fresh air, and at other times extra humidity to each of the dependant rubbermaids.... Environmental stability could be established then just by taking readings daily and adjusting the timers. I think I've just described my next set up!

Thank Eye for the inspiration!

If you are doing bulk, rubbermaids are impractical.

i'd just like to point out that pvc is not a very good support for larger structures. anything larger than say 200ft^3 should utlise existing structure (such as concrete walls) and or 2X4 or larger wood support. The diameter of PVC required to equate to the structural capacity of 2X4 is too large for practical use or economy.

the wood should be of the treated variety preferably seal-painted with a marine (water-proof mold resistant) lacquer. this makes cleaning much simpler. if using unfinished joists or studs (think an unfinished basement) then a quick spraypainting of kilz or rust-oleum is sufficient vapor barrier.

4-6mil plastic sheeting can be attached with minimal air leakage using duct tape and staples. 1st staple a strip of duct tape sticky side up to the face of your wood. Next, carefully postion your plastic and press into the tape and then staple the plastic into the wood through the duct tape. Finally, place duct tape patches over the staples. In fact, the last step can be skipped if the first two are performed carefully and thoroughly.

when attaching loose plastic without the aid of structural support (corners, edges, and repairs) 1st use contact cement and then cover with duct tape.
