Nice
Fun fact I recently stumbled upon. You know that smell that the chestnut mushrooms mycelium has? Thats exactly what pure qualuude powder smells like. I doubt this information is useful for anything ever but I thought it was interesting

Well lets remember that King Oysters dont inherently have small caps and big stipes. We just grow them that way bc their stipes are really good. If you grow a King Oyster outdoors it produces a nice big cap just like any other oyster .

Yea me neither until a few weeks ago. Had a buddy hook me up with a couple grams of pure powder he got from some dark web chemist. Very interesting drug. It was very strange stumbling onto to the fact it smells just like Pholiota Adiposa mycelium. It's such a unique smell

Been working with outdoor beds this spring/summer. Finally getting some rain and the temperatures are dropping so I think I'm about to hit the oyster jackpot. Biggest flush I've seen outdoors so far, not the best looking pins.

Have shiitake and lions mane beds too, but doubt they are going to pop again till possibly fall.
I haven't figured out the timing of printing lions mane's yet. So let's just leave it fruiting on agar for way too long and make a syringe from the lid.

Really great pics everybody. Those oysters looks delish.
My first maitake bag is finally ready to fruit! Took about 3x longer than oysters Id say, not so bad.

Root Mush Farm off Amazon. Ive heard others say they dont like them but Ive always gotten great syringes from them with aggressive cultures. Love the price and how fast they always arrive too.

Nice work hummus and Dave, great as usually. I guess maitaki is suppose to form primordial in the bag a month after inoc..? Idk another month or so and I'll start some for the fall, can't wait reply. I've gotten some of those syringes from Amazon, also have been relatively impressed on quality. I need to take some pics ha, but idk I just have a bunch of pinks, golds tarragon, and I don't really like any of them. Maybe in the next couple weeks when I fruit my 11lb blocks.

Yeahhh I should have waited til end of summer to start the Maitake but oh well, just running my AC to keep me and the mushies happy. Yes you let it form to a pretty good size before slitting the top of the bag and fruiting. But now Im in no mans land, I have no idea how the fronds form so Im kinda just eyeballing the maitake daily and wondering if everything is alright haha. We will see.

Impressive and great job!
What temps did you keep that maitake at? I have heard it needs to be at 60 in order for primordia to form. Mine never fruited, though it colonized well.
