deadmandave said: No I think they like fruiting like that. It's better space management than to spread them out. plus it holds the excess bag (that's been folded over) in one place and they're less likely to fall off the shelf. Shiitake is the exception.
Right on, I’ll give this a try. Would significantly increase the amount of bags I could fruit in my tent. Thank you!

Been noticing this clear/translucent slime or jelly in a few of my jars lately. Feeling like it’s nothing as the rest of the jar looks fantastic but would love a more experienced opinion on it if y’all don’t mind. Jar is black pearl oyster on oats.

Where you getting those cartons?
We started ordering our small cartons from sun sugar farms. They have such neat boxes and the lady you deal with is so sweet. Now that she has my info I just text her and she sends me boxes and charges my card

I gotta look into that.
I just bought enough for this season tho. They are like 60 cents each which is not great. I get them from papermart. They keep the mushrooms well and look presentable. I can fit a lb in the big box and half in the small (but I have to jam a little in the small box)

Right?? Last year I sold at $1/oz but this year after switching to soy hulls I can grow a lot more mushrooms with the same effort. Also I'm just selling at one market and I really just consider this a pilot project anyways. When my kids get older I'll have more time to dedicate and grow.

That's a great presentation though in that box like that, and I bet people really like the variety. I can't imagine you have any problem selling out if you get any traffic there?

Yeah it's a really small market but I can sell 30 lbs in 4 hours. I love the market, it's fun to chat with people about mushrooms or whatever.
Teriyaki sauce sounds good. I love it but my partner hates it. Been a while since I've had any

Forgot about this unfinished 55gal planter I filled with old subs and yard waste and stuck in the woods.

Do pinks do well on straw? I run my blues mostly in straw logs but I'm hesitant to do pinks in logs. Do you all mostly do hwfp or masters mix?

I've not seen it but I bet pinks do great on straw. I've seen Goldie's on straw that were doing fine. I ran mine on hwfp and bran but masters is probably the best.
Nice looking lions mane. How do you like your fc so far? You've be using it for about a year or so right?

Ya it's been about a year but I wasn't able to grow at all this past winter.
Temps get down to -25f where I'm at in the rockies, but I g9t 8nsulatioj this year and hopefully a better heating method.
It's finicky since the whole thing is solar powered and it's a primitive system.
