Might want to give them a bit more space between during colonization. I can't always and definitely have patches and inconsistencies, maybe heat issues depending on the time of year. Once theyre done colonizing they don't produce as much heat tho.

My wild oyster bags are close. Seems like they're kinda knotty looking around the older colonized grains. Not sure why that is. Doesn't seem to be contams.
What happened with those? I had something very similar I posted about recently and figured they were contaminated. Have a couple jars with the same thing happening currently that I’m watching to see what happens.

I have an oyster bag with something similar, will give it some more time.

My oyster spawn used to look like that all the time, I always kinda figured it was just normal for them. Never gave me any problems.

Yeah the big white spot is lighting.
Its one of my first wheat bags i prep so i dont know. I will keep a test bag, if it doesnt go green or any other color in 10 days it should be ok right? At least for oysters that eat it really fast with g2g.

Nah it's weird looking sometimes for sure. I always used to think my spawn had a yeast infection or something, and it was only with oysters it would do that.

Huh.. so then I’ve probably tossed out a few good jars. Good to know. Y’all ever have chestnut do any weirdness? Last couple jars were nice and white and the most recent looks more akin to lions mane. Very light and wispy.
Good looking lions mane Joze. Should have some pinning any day now. Once they’re on grain shit moves along. It’s the agar part that’s tripping me up.

Yeah, I don't know why lion's mane grows so slow on agar. I need to do some research into other agar recipes for it.

Beautiful. What genetics is this?
A couple months ago I bought a culture of t505 from terrestrial fungi. Have any of you grown that? The pics of it on his Instagram are incredible
I made some test bags nov 8th and they are looking incredible. Even the 2 masters mix bags are fruiting well. I kind of thought those would fail to be honest

Those chestnuts look awesome. Beautiful reishi and oysters as well!
I have a question for you ladies and gents. Been wanting to switch up to synthetic filter discs and get away from the poly-fill tug-of-war. Seeing as we cut and toss these bags when we’re done with them, could I not circle out and cut an SFD or two from the filter in the bag and reuse them on jars? Unless these are a different material entirely I don’t see one round of pressure cooking wearing them out too much and it would just be getting more bang for the buck on the bags.
