Trich on outside of line help!

So I guess a few of my grains fell between the liner and the tub, looks like a spot got trich. I’m wondering if I should pull the liner back and spray it with alcohol or let sit until the first flush finishes and then toss it. My pinset is already established and should be done in a few days what should I do
It looks isolated in that one spot so maybe it can flush one time before reaching the actual sub

Your plan can work, do it.if you have a couple of tubs make sure you isolate this one. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys! The pinset is pretty full and should be done soon. Think I’ll just toss this one after the first flush and start a new one. This is the first tub I’ve had with trich so I’m actually surprised I got through quite a few without seeing this bastard mold. guess it hits everyone at some point

Rule #1 around here when you see trich THROW IT OUT YO!!! Best thing you can do is finish the grow outside if you get trich spores in your home you can forget about growing in that room again.

I removed trich from mine and sprayed the area I operated on with alcohol. The trich hasn't shown up in over a week, the spawn is a solid myc blob, I have pins starting and we going into fruiting now.
I'm new at this, but I'm really glad I didn't follow the "throw it out" advice.
Also, trich spores are literally everywhere.

hey it's your home not mine! If you want to sabotage all future grows because you want to wing it go ahead. At least you have the option to continue the fruiting outside. You don't have to save every grow do you know how many professionals here have thrown out contam jars?

Just curious if that's based off your personal experience or something you read. I've had grows contaminate a couple of days before the fruits were finished. I let the fruits finish and the trich did it's thing infecting a little more of my tub each day until I harvested them and dumped the tub. I didn't have a massive trich problem afterwards either. There's also some threads on here where people let their tubs grow alongside infected ones with no issues. The stickied contamination post in mush cult even says the spores aren't likely to be airborne. Not sure what the source of this post is though:
"Spore are produced on this mycelium turning it a yellow to green color often with a noticeable bright white 'apron' still surrounding the colony. The wet spores it produces are too heavy to become airborne on their own but are able adhere to airborne dust particles and become airborne that way. The sticky nature of the spores make them a common contaminant in still air box work as they easily stick to gloves and jars. Sporulation occurs from various triggers including light, nutrients in the substrate, full colonization, and damage to colonies. Often times sporulation will not be triggered until after spawning, leaving unsuspecting cultivators unaware their healthy appearing spawn is actually contaminated." https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23130868
Either way, I'd leave the contamination alone if your fruits are close to finishing. I've also tried spraying alcohol on trich and it doesn't seem to give a shit. It's not the crazy boogeyman that'll ruin your grow room that people make it out to be IMO.

Who are the "pros" who throw out contaminated jars again?

I explained what you need to know. What you do with the information is entirely up to you. If you're comfortable with eating food that grew next to contams....wow. Even if mushrooms don't have a vascular system that's just nasty dawg.

Hey I learned from the best on this site. If you want to make up your own rules good luck. Cubes can be grown by a monkey so you can really screw up most of it and end up with fruits. I'm out.
Oh by the way. If you see Gump tell him to check out that foxhole over there.

The reason anyone gets trich in the first place, even their first grow attempt, is because trich is there - everywhere already. Not because years before some noob left a tub there too long.

You'd be shocked if you knew what happened to your food before it got to your plate. You shouldn't be scared of mold. You likely ingest a good amount of it without knowing. Hell, there's plenty of foods where it's introduced beneficially like in blue cheese or koji. It's not gonna kill you and infect your house forever. Be one with the mold.

Stop spreading bad info dude. If you could never grow in a room where you saw trich, nobody hear would have a room left in their house to grow in and no one that anyone would call "the best" taught you that
If you wanna be a dumbass about things, fine, but don't spread that shit around

Yea if u only have a small grow going it can be worth to keep something til the first flush finishes so u have a stash and can clone.
