Small Patch of Mold on One of My Cakes

I discovered a small patch of mold on one of my cakes during the second flush. It wasn’t pinning, so I took it out to look at it and I discovered it. I took the cake out and threw it away. The rest of my cakes are pinning and producing. I’m assuming that after this flush they’ll be bad, but should the others be okay? I’m going to give them all a quick look.

If you're talking about fruits being bad, no they'll be fine to eat, assuming you're talking about green mold. If you're talking about cakes being bad, just monitor them and assume that eventually they will get contaminated as well. provide proper FAE and you might be fine for a few flushes.

Better take pictures next time. Chances are you threw your cake away due to blue bruising.

No, it was definitely green mold. It came off on a q tip and it was undoubtedly green and not blue.

if it starts to mold half way through the next flush, don't feel like you have to toss it immediately. i usually let flushes finish if i see mold part way through. obviously if it gets horrible or happens before more pins start to mature toss it, but if there's a little spot of mold starting & you've got mushrooms that'll be done in a day or two it's more worth it to let them finish ime

There's mold spread over the cake, without any pins yet i'd toss.
