I wonder if spraying some H202 solution would help trigger pinning. I wonder how socks sand casing went

That would be awesome. Any tips on getting them to pin? I was just going to leave it in the shoebox with the lid on for a while until it looks more or less fully colonized, then throw them in monos to fruit.

That looks like you might have a good culture. When it overlays really bad for me it always comes in super rhizo with long thick fingers sticking out of the coir at first.

I wish i had an idea. For me the overlay seems to happen in low fae environments, but pinning? I have no clue lol. I can tell you how to get a lot of side pins and a super shitty usable yield though

It’s for sure worse around the edges. Idk if it’s swelling up looking for food or air or for protection or what.
You’d think we’d have made some progress over the last year

Mine pinned pretty randomly and no side pins. I only tamped the top layer around the edges about an inch from the walls. The rest of my top layer was left fluffy

Like why in the absolute fuck is my growth perfectly normal in the sub but it rips through the casing like that? It's like any time iy feels fresh air it has to go rhizomorphic and overlay or something.
Like there is a clear line where it decided to fan out. Does anyone have a clue? I'm really starting to run out of ideas. I've ran them hot and dry with limited fae, hot and humid with lots of fae, I've also tried misting and fanning, warm temps and ranges of fae. Right now they're in a dry environment with lots of fae. I'm not sure if i can attribute anything to anything because this is a clone grow and my stoned unorganized ass doesn't know if this was a big fruit clone or a cluster clone. But everything I've had has been mss up until now so 🤷

Also i think vendors selling nss syringes are selling natalensis but mislabeling it because of how they will grow in cube conditions.

It’s not even all blobbed up! Did you scrape it? Right before mine started to pin, I had a bunch of blobs that I smashed down with paper towels. It turned into like a mat. Then I punched a bunch of holes in the mat with a fork, like riddled it. Then it started to fluff up again but this time with pins mixed in. Maybe try bubble wrap for a second flush?

Nah, the blobs or overlay isn't really present but the rhizomorphic growth like that just isn't good for producing fruits from what I've experienced. All of my pinsets form around the blobs and any fruit that comes from the blobs is aborted

Maybe your sub is too clean. What if the best pinning trigger for these is a competing species or bacteria. I’ve seen guys say that they had the best pin set with cubes when there was trich lurking underneath

Well they do like bacteria. I had another shoebox that got trich really bad so it's in the compost pile. At this rate my best nat flush is gonna be in that fucking pile

My mushroom grew in harmony with the rhizomorph and the drops.

Did you do anything after the first flush? For example, hydrating the cake with water or just waiting for a second flush?

Well this is the first flush still growing, will leave it until the caps open up some more, then I’ll dunk the cake for like 3/4 hours before sending it back into fruiting conditions.
