I was curious why we dont add substantial nutrients to CVG when growing to supplement our grows
I know gypsum has some nutrients but it doesnt seem to be a comprehensive as we do for other strains

For gourmets usually you supplement up to 20% with bran.
When you spawn one part cubensis spawn in two parts coir its about 33% supplementation.

People grow in poo all the time, which afaik is nutrient positive. Also is coir really that devoid of nutrients? I would think that the mushies at least get something out of it.

Thats kind of what i was thinking but with gourmet they get the spawn and the bran which comes out to higher than 33% right ?
bottom line , if i just want more nutes just add more spawn is what it sounds like ? Curious what adding bran does to cubes

Yeah its basically got nothing in it as far as i know its just for water retention and a substrate the mycelium can quickly grow through

because they are not a primary decomposer.
However I think there is some value in adding some compost etc to cvg and pasteurizing it properly, to get beneficial fungi.

When you inoculate supplemented bag its not with full jar of spawn or anything similar. You just want bunch of incoulation points to start things up.
When you inoculate bran supplemented coir in a bag - nothing special happens. You are growing mushrooms.
To answer your question about much higher supplementation - try fruiting straight grains.
They will lack water.
