Advice for 2nd grow?

Hello~ sorry if this isn't the right place to post, but I'd like some feedback before I jump into my next grow : )
About a month ago I finally succeeded in growing mushrooms through the simple PF Tek method. Unfortunately, I only got around 9g dry before the cakes became contaminated after the 2nd flush (I got a little careless handling them towards the end). All of the mushrooms grew very small (except for one big one) and suffered from fuzzy feet, no matter how much I experimented with FAE, misting, and temperature. Despite the many holes, the lid needed to be cracked to minimize the fuzz, which left the temp & humidity vulnerable to dipping.
The cakes were from 2 different syringes. My setup was soaked perlite, cakes on tinfoil inside of a basic grow chamber (plastic tub w/ lots of holes drilled in), and a self-regulating reptile heater under the tub. I might have misted a bit aggressively, but corrected that midway through.
I just inoculated 6 more jars, and this time I want to spawn to bulk. I really want this time to be a success. What can I do to improve this time? Thank you!

Hey dude welcome
If you want to go the bulk route most people will suggest starting with agar. Spore syringes are inherently dirty and agar is a surefire way to ensure you're using clean growth. You can read more about agar and how to make it here, or if you want a more beginner-friendly version check this out.
What kind of tub are you planning on using to spawn? Already found a good tek on bulk spawning?

What I would do is do the PF tek again and clone the best fruits to agar. Then go agar to grain. I'd ditch the reptile heater - people universally slam them here and any kind of bottom-heating. If things are cold, heat the room to ideal temps (76F). If you can't heat a whole room, heat a closet with a mini space heater.
As far as fuzzy feet go, some strains are just like that. My Purple Mystics could be grown in open air with no lid and they will still have fuzzy feet. I wouldn't use fuzzy feet as an indication of lack of FAE. If the fuzz goes all the way up to and over the caps then that's a different story. But in a PF Tek bin with a lot of holes, you really should not be having any issues at all with FAE.
Small mushrooms could just be the genetics you have, or contams on the cakes. Try some different syringes from different vendors too.

What these two said ^
Youre gonna want to go to agar. If u already have 6 jars knocked up just do what ya did last time and get them to fruit and select a few clones, do a few transfers to clean up ur agar, and then agar to grain.
Welcome to the shroomery! Btw getting 9gs on ur first go IS FKING AWESOME. Getting anything at all other than a green mold farm on ur first go is a win imo. U got it to fruit so even if the results werent quite as much as youd hoped you still got to your end goal and 9gs is enough for at least 2 or 3 heavy trips as a reward for your hard work :P Keep it up!

I'm following a really basic "pasteurize coco coir and crumble the cake into it" video; just small plastic tubs with the lids cracked, but I'll research the optimal way to do it before the time comes esp. since I used brown rice flour and not grain.
I thought my fruits were too teeny tiny last time for agar, but this time I'll look into it, thank you!

When I get fuzzy feet on an existing fruiting body it seems quite difficult to get it to disappear. It would take way more fae to get existing fuzzy feet to go away then it would if you applied that far earlier. This is my experience anyway.
And yes agar. You won't regret it. It may seem intimidating but it's actually pretty easy and really fun. The sooner you take that leap, the sooner you'll be pulling monsters and have a full canopy in your sig.
