Geese are stupid creatures.
    #2715649 - 05/22/04 06:24 PM (19 years, 10 months ago)

The lot aduacent to my work place has a ton of canadian geese. I drove my car into the lot and proceeded to chase them. However, they thought they could evade me by running away. I chased a small herd as fast as they could run for about a minute and a half before they took off. Dumbasses... if something a hundred times my wieght was chasing me, and I had the power of flight, I'd be in the air the firt chance I got.

On the way home there were some more geese in the road, complete with goselings. Motherfucks wouldn't out of the road untill I chased them... fuckers.

Yes geese are stupid. They can act really goofy sometimes too. Check out my goose story that I posted a while back. It's from the Pub Campfire thread. I'll just copy and paste it in case anyone wants to read it:

This one happened two summers ago. Me, my girfriend at the time, my friend and his girlfriend were leaving to go to the first night of Terrapin Station (The Other Ones reunion concert at Alpine Valley). We were walking up this steep hill to get to the car and this great big goose follows us up the hill with its long tongue hanging down. We got to the car and when we opened the doors, the goose tried to get in! It had a crazy look on its face. We all managed to get in the car, while it almost got its wing stuck between the door. Then I started to drive down the country road and the damn thing is chasing after us and soon it matches its speed with the speed I was driving and flew right along side me. In the midst of all this commotion I didn't realize my window was open and before I knew it its wing was coming inside. I had to close the window, narrowly avoiding closing it down on the goose, which was at one point was almost halfway inside the car. At this point my gf is crying because she thinks I'm gonna kill it (she was very emotional) and my friends in the back seat are just cracking up in disbelief. I come to a stop sign (it's still flying beside me) and then I turn onto a faster road and I have to get up to like 50 mph before finally loosing this great beast with its long tongue dangling about. The last time I saw that bird was through my rear view mirror. It was stopped in the middle of the road, feathers flying everywhere, with this pissed off look on its face. I came to the conclusion that it was the reincarnation of Jerry Garcia and he just wanted a ride to the show.

We were driving down a country road in a motorhome one time and a whole gaggle of geese walked right out in front of us. There must've been a dozen of 'em, and I'm sure we killed half of 'em! It was kinda sad but funny as hell at the same time. When we hit the gaggle you would've thought we hit a feather bed. POOF!!! Feathers went flying everywhere!!

Geese are actually one of the smartest birds...the reason they dont wanna fly is because they are a bigass bird and therefore takes a lot of effort and energy to fly...By you being a shitfuck an making them fly when they are resting is just fuckkin stupid...
Just think about it guy

I discourage the domestication of a wild species... when we feed the birds we are screwing with nature. Instead of the strong breeding with the strong, they breed with those that should not have been elligible for a mate. They might not have lost all instinct, but certainly the learning process of how to survive has been altered. So, while I may dole out a loaf of bread here and there for my own amusement, I feel no guilt for pushing a goose closer to it's endurace.

"I discourage the domestication of a wild species"
don't you have 2 dogs and a cat and um, anything else?

"when we feed the birds we are screwing with nature"
hell ya, just like we are screwing with nature just by being alive.

"Instead of the strong breeding with the strong, they breed with those that should not have been elligible for a mate."
and when did you become the expert on Geese mating habits?

"They might not have lost all instinct, but certainly the learning process of how to survive has been altered."
I suppose that is why they are still here?

"So, while I may dole out a loaf of bread here and there for my own amusement, I feel no guilt for pushing a goose closer to it's endurace."

Cats and dogs aren't wild animals, but they once were. As I said, I discourage domestication of wild animals. I don't think geese should become so dependant on us humans... especially at the rate we are going.

I never claimed to be an expert... in ANY feild. However, if humans intervene long enough we might be see geese become cuter and cuter, but not more fit. There adaptation skillz would suck, additionally.

on one of the main highways into columbus today, a five lane highway nonetheless, about 30 goslings clad with the parent geese decided to cross the highway at rush hour. I wasn't there, but my moms bf was and said it was hilarious.

They are funny animals, so angry and vicious!

I hate it when people fuck around with animals though.  A few days ago I was waiting for a train at a station and a kid was chasing some pigeons, like this really annoying loud screaming kid runnng after pigeons.  I wanted to smack the kid.  When an animal doesnt fear humans (for me thats a relief to see) you dont repay that by giving them reason to fear you, I know I know, it was a kid... still wanted to smack him though
