First Time Agar//Mold or Mycelium?

I gave my first attempt at BODs Agar tek, and I’m wondering if this is Mycelium or some fluffy white mold. I definitely sprayed too much out of the syringe it was hard to hold it properly in my SAB, that’s why there’s multiple points of growth per dish. Thank you for any help.

Almost definitely mycelium. Let that stuff take over the whole plate, do a transfer or two from your favorite looking growth, then move on to grains. Good job

Don't let it colonize the whole plate before you take transfers. You want to take xfers from the leading edge of growth preferably away from the edges of the dish

You guys rock, thank you so much for the quick responses. Inoculated about 4 days ago. Will be moving to grain here soon. Super stoked to be on the right path, started with BRF but it didn’t seem the most efficient so I’ll be giving Monotubs a shot.

Another quick question, do I need to transfer agar to agar? Or can I go straight from this agar dish to grain?

Usually best to do a few transfers to narrow down the different strains from the MS syringe. Basically every colony on your plates is a different strain, so pick a few pretty ones and send to a fresh dish and let it grow out a bit before going to grain. Good luck

Thank you again, learning a lot here. I'll give it another transfer and see how it goes. Will update this post when there's a change, positive or negative. I appreciate all the help.

Good job! You are in good hands here.
Thought this may help https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27285773#27285773
Also you can fridge the plates for future transfers. Seems like you can get lots of good transfers from just that last plate.
