 How’s my first LC looking?

Howdy everyone. Recently tried my hand at doing some LIquid culture. I used polyfill for the lid and tried my best not to let the water touch it much when shaking (more like twisting it). How’s this looking? I know it’s difficult to tell contamination but would you say it’s ready to start testing? Thanks.

from what i understand you cannot tell good LC by looking at it, like ever.
Test it on agar
My first LC I was about to toss cuz it looked crazy, tested it on agar and its not only clean apparently but has awesomely aggressive quick growing myc so u rly dont knw. My 2nd I thought was fine and was nothing BUT bacteria and mold spores

Yeah man, exactly what these two said. Looks good as in its not cloudy, but make sure to test it on agar before doing anything with it. I recently tried LCs again and ended up making one that was pure cobweb mold and another that I thought was RW ended up being contamed with yellow oysters. Kinda funny actually, but a bummer when they started to fruit. I may try them again, but for now I’m sticking with agar plates, just too many ways to mess up LC IME.

How tf did that happen? xD You must be growing yellow oysters too that spored and contamed that way right? Like yellow oyster spores arent just chillin like trich are they? xD
Hearing a TC also struggles w LC makes my newb ass not feel as bad and kinda proud that ive had a 50% success rate so far xD
The craziest thing is it was from a MSS too.

The yellow oyster contamination was fully my fault. I was growing a ton last Summer so my grow space was full of their spore dumps – I was pulling 20+ 5-6lb clusters per week. I started noticing a lot of rogue spore germinations on my plates and when I went to make LC some must have gotten in. For the cobweb mold, I think that was the one I tried making from MS, so that makes more sense. LCs are just hard, you have to be extra careful and even then you can mess it up.
That's awesome you got a clean one from MMS! It's a crap shoot, but the fact it's difficult to see what's going on in the LC makes me very wary.
I also need a better lab space lol, my flow hood is just in my garage so I'm not surprised I get some issues from time to time.
