ID request - Melbourne
    #27294732 - 05/05/21 06:42 AM (1 year, 4 months ago)

Habitat: wood chips in an urban park near creek, see photo

Gills: ranging from latte-ish to mid-brown, see photo

Stem: whitish, some break apart easily when pressed

Cap: orange to brown, 2-4cm diameter

Spore print color: brownish, maybe very slightly purple? - see photo

Bruising: some darkening to brown (so doubtful they're subs?)

Location: Melbourne, eastern suburbs

Some of the caps were pretty slimy, it was just after a big rain and there was still a light drizzle.

Thanks in advance!

They don't look like subs to me. No blue bruising and the stipe looks wrong.

Subject to confirmation from a TI, they appear to be Leratiomyces Ceres, aka "Chip Cherries". Not active and reportedly inedible. Keep an eye on the area as the season progresses, as Psilocybe Subaeruginosa sometimes appear in the same areas as Leratiomyces.

Cheers! I'll take a few more trips over the next few months.
