Colonization vs. Fruiting Bod's Unmodified Monotub
    #27293189 - 05/03/21 11:20 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hello.
First, I want to say this is my first time attempting to grow mushrooms. I've successfully colonized 4 1-pint jars of BRF and vermiculite using a B  spore syringe. I now plan to spawn to bulk using coir/verm at about a 1:2 spawn substrate ratio and Bod's Unmodified Monotub. In his tek there is no difference between the fruiting stage and the colonization stage. I've read conflicting things on this and was wondering if it is generally recommended to keep the lid firmly on the tub during colonization or to just keep it resting gently like Bod does in the tek.
Thanks!

Bods teks are usually up to date, it works perfectly.
Other you read may be old ones.
Just follow it to the tee

:whathesaid:

I just flip the lid upside down after spawning. It'll fruit when it's fully colonized.

Yeah, in the end it`s up to your environment.
I have it dry here, so i usually never flip lids.
Fahtbags spend the best microclimate for me.
Just try, you`ll see what works best for you

Yup:thumbup:, I run a humidifier to about 35% humidity in my grow area.

Might just be my lids, but I've gotten really nice pinsets in lower rh with lid Flipping as well.  The lids I use are almost the same whether you flip them or not haha.

It`s called `growing conditions` now,
dialed right in from the start, you should rarely mist or fan
until the first flush.
Just spawn to tubs and wait
