Pressure cooker repair (inner part developed noooks)
    #27291882 - 05/03/21 11:08 AM (2 years, 8 months ago)

My "antique" PC has a bit of nooks now. Maybe a couple of 1-2mm bores. Nothing serious really but I want to keep this for a couple more years.......

Is it possible to just DIY it and fill it up with low temp aluminum rods?

I just want to prevent it to pierce a hole through as early as now. The TIG welder declined me when I asked him to repair it. Maybe because he's using really strong flames and would compromise the base metal? Im still researching as I wait for my PC run to finish. Its an old model 20.5 quart AA.

Thanks in advance.

Giving you guys an update.

The repair was a success.

I think I might have ran more than 20x cycle  no problem.

I could play around with a propane torch and low temp rod, Tig looks like a lot of work.

You cant melt low temp rod where you want it if youre dealing with aluminum as thick as a PC. You just cant heat up the PC at levels required to fuse them. I tried that one. Didnt work.
