2 different kinds of mushrooms?
    #2728818 - 05/25/04 06:53 PM (14 years, 28 days ago)

I ended up getting two different kinds of shrooms.
Both were called cubes, one was referred to as a mexican strain of cubes.

I'm wondering if they are both the same. The kits looked the same, and were grown the same.

Yet - they appear a bit different. Are they?

Sometimes a terrarium of cubies can have different types of mycelia inthem and produce two or three different strains of cubies. Here is an example of some Cambodians I grew a while back. Notice all three are different from one another, came form different areas int he Terrieum where I grew them.

The three middle shrooms are all Cambodians from the same terrarium.
The two plastic bags wiuth a shroom in them are Orissa, India Giants.

plastic?  I thought plastic was a bad choice for storage?  I do see that the air is sucked out of there, though.

They must be different strains.  Though, and maybe it's in my head, the lighter ones give me less of a body trip, and the visuals kick in quicker...  hmm.

That's a funny-looking chode shroom there on the bottom, MJ.  hehe.

All three of those miffle shrooms on a white paper came form the same sporeprint. Just different kinds of mycelia grew.

AS for the India shrooms ont he left and the right in plastic bags. Those were temporary bags usd to preserve thew shrooms fresh o for a few days so clones could be made form the cap of each of the two shrooms.

I split one of those shrooms with two people and we all had a rewarding experience on them. The plastic baged shrooms are the Orissa India strain. They were kept in the vegetable cooler for a few days beforew doing the culture work on the caps.

mj.
