Vegan Beef Brisket
    #27255514 - 03/16/21 11:18 AM (2 years, 10 months ago)

For those of you who have eaten genuine 12-hour-cooked BEEF BRISKET, I have a challenge: What technologies and raw materials would you use if you HAD to make an equally delicious, texture-matching VEGAN BEEF BRISKET?

If we didn't use cows for meat and milk they would be extinct.  So we are doing them a favor by eating them.

Only a completely ignorant person or attention seeker would say something this wrong. You have my attention. Do you know what torture is? Why don't you define it for us to start the chat off. If you have no clue what torture is, which is obvious by the quote above, then start by admiting and typing -

"I don't know what constitutes torture , nor have any understanding of the literal torture and serial rape that cows endure on industrial sized animal warehousing and torture operations."

i really dont get why some people who dont eat meat still want something that tastes like meat , as for the ethical side of things its pretty easy to buy free range etc these days.

*im pretty sure the op just works in market research due to the posts he makes.

Humans co-evolved with fungal foods, plant foods, and animal food products.

We also co-evolved with bacteria and other lifeforms.

Most humans want to live a happy life and enjoy a clever dietary lifestyle once they are able to judge what foods are best for them.

Instead of having vegans and people on the carnivore diet clashing with each other, we could learn valuable insights from both populations.

If you like meat for its flavor, aroma, texture, and nutritional aspects, why not try to invent a meat that is literally identical yet does not require a living animal to be enslaved and slaughtered? It is a potential step forward if we can do this ethically and tastefully.

I still eat non-vegan foods --- by the way. I just wish I didn't have to.

We breed and raise cows for one reason and one reason only, TO EAT THEM!  Cows are not "tortured", nobody is waterboarding cows.  Many cows live a shitty, cramped and uncomfortable life but at least they get free food and medical which is better than allot of Americans get.

Cows are the stupidest animals on the planet and if we didn't eat them they would be gone.  Consider our factory farming of this commodity as a conservation effort.  Eat a cow, save a cow.

I have worked in the meat processing and distribution industry for over 20 years now and the plant based meat companies are pushing hard to get into the market with fake bacon and imitation beef.  I would be all for it if they could come up with a good product but that there is the problem, nobody has come up with anything that is good enough to convince a meat eater to go plant based.

I dont like the direction that "plant based" food is going.  There are soo many delicious non meat foods that can be packaged and marketed as meat free that don't pretend to be meat.  the industry seems to be laser focused on trying to invent the best meat like alternative and they all just miss the mark.

That's not entirely true.  American bison are cows, we breed and raise them primarily to save them from extinction.

Let's look at this topic from extra angles. Let's start with a financial angle by asking a question.

Would you rather:
A. Make $29,000 to $60,000usd per year slaughtering cows in a slaughter house
B. Make at least $1 million usd per month after investing a lifetime's worth of personal energy, personal finances, and your correspondence/research to truly develop and market an ethical, delicious, nutritious plant-based beef brisket?
