Spawn Bag is Jumping Ahead into Fruiting Already

So I have some spawn bags with the rye at the bottom and compost on top. I'm still waiting for the mycelium to colonize the rye 100%... it's at about 90% right now. During this wait, the mycelium as moved up into the compost layer and now it's already starting to fruit!!

There are a lot of pins and blobs starting to form on the side of the compost, and some actual fruits. When this bag gets to 100% colonization and I'm ready to mix everything up, what do I do with these pins and fruits?
For the pins and blobs, I can't just mix it in right, because they will leave the mycelium network and rot from the inside?
Should I scrape off all of the pins from the compost before mixing, and if so, what's the best way to do so?

why were you waiting to mix it? I would have mixed it all when I inoculated it. removing the pins seems counterintuitive to growing mushrooms... I'd leave it and let it do its thing.

Because I was waiting for the rye to fully colonize first before mixing it up with the compost.
If I mix up the pins and they get broken up into the inside, wouldn't that cause issues with the mycelium recolonizing the entire substrate?

If your mixing it anyways the mycelium is still going to have to recolonize

Hmmm dunno, I was always told to wait until the grain is fully colonized. Does that not matter at all?

Yes you should wait for the grain to fully colonize before mixing with substrate unless your just gonna remove the uncolonized part.
A good option would be to just top fruit it at this point instead of mixing it up.

Did you buy the bag pre-made and noc it up with a syringe? If so that's definitely not the best way to do things as you're figuring out. Those all in one bags are weird for cubes. A better option would be getting a grain bag and a seperate substrate bag, nocing up the grains that way you can mix em up during colonization then mix them with the substrate when there fully colonized. Although doing that with a spore syringe is still really sketchy as syringes almost always have at least a little bit of bacteria. I've personally gotten away with it but only 1 out of my 4 bags didn't contam. Then I started agar, making my own grains and substrate and have gotten much better results.
