Lol I was gonna do some outside too until I decided it’s not worth the risk with the smell that it would put off. Especially with the mush cult stuff going on too it’s just not smart.
Keeping them out of site is easy but that stink is too much.
It’s perfect too cuz my dog dug this hole that’s 3x2’ and close to 3’ deep. I was just gonna drop a 5 gallon pot in there and put some ferns or something around the hole.

I totally forgot you're "up there" lol.
That's interesting to hear though, that their seeds/genetics are being sold up there through the official government sites. Cool!
Can you post a link to the site?...I'm not trying to get anything and obviously can't since I'm not in the country lol, I'm just curious what the site is like, what the menu/selections are like, etc.
I think it may break the EG rules for me to link it here but I can PM you the listing. In Ontario the province is the wholesaler to private stores and sells the same products online. The legal market for recreational seeds is just what they decide to sell (and is presumably dwarfed by the black market in sales). For quite a while they only had two strains listed. Finally there is getting to be more variety now. They could sell clones too but they don't.

I forgot about that in this particular forum.
Got your PM tho.
Yea I've wondered how that all works up there. I've heard a bit about that. Also heard about how there were only those two strains available for a while.
There's only a small handful of licensed cultivators up there that produces everything, right? Or the government does all the growing entirely? Same with actual walk in stores?
Or can citizens open up their own stores & start their own cannabis cultivation business with licenses and permits & what not from the government?
I haven't actually looked into how it works up there.

Yea if I wasn't in a state/area where growing a plant or two isn't legal or decriminalized and also had some fungi growing I too wouldn't bother with it.
Times are changing though! In a few parts of the country growing one's own cannabis and own mushrooms for personal use isn't something that will get ya caught up in anyway.

I put my plants in a container outside this weekend and it will be in the high 30's for a night or two in the next week, maybe tonight only. Will they make it here in CO? Not too worried really. I got 4 plants to sprout out of 15 (old) seeds. Popped up about 2 weeks ago. If I get at least one female I'll be happy. Hopefully all 4.

I can’t wait to flower these. Really hope I don’t get more than one or two males.
I have no idea how big they’ll end up but I figure I’d rather have them too big and cut them back than too small.
I’m thinking maybe two more weeks. Should be able to do the last top for the manifold in a day or two.
Also I have no idea if the fim on the middle plant worked. So far it just looks like mutilated leaves

It completely failed. You want to cut a little further down. Looks like you cut at the top, at like 1/3 of the shoot, should have cut at or just under 2/3.

Yeah I figured something wasn’t right. I cut really low like the guides say but I’ll try lower next time.
This is right when I did it.
When it works the secondary branches on the two nodes that get cut should turn into mains right?
Idk what the deal is but nobody seems to know anything about fimming. On the weed sites I’m on they keep saying it’s a good fim and supposed to look like this but there’s no way. It’s not even bushing out like the ones I topped.

lol it’s also weird to me that enough people fucked up topping that it got it’s own name. Topping is super easy I just don’t see how it’s so common to miss unless you’re trying to top asap and it’s just a little nub in the middle still.

Well, basically here's what happens when you fim the right way:
Imagine you topped a plant. Now it lacks a new shoot, instead has 2 big leaves on top of the plant, with 2 little sprouts coming from their "armpits".
Now let's imagine that shoot you have just cut off in detail. It's really just 2 leaves folded firmly against 2 more leaves, folded firmly against 2 more leaves, folder firmly against 2 leaves; inside every armpit sits a sprout for a new shoot.
When you fimmed, you have cut away the shoots' outer leaves folded firmly against all the other inner leaves, but you didn't cut off the leaves' stems, so you also left the sprouts for the new shoots coming from their armpits. Those 2 shoots, and maybe the ones above those if you left them (and maybe the ones below as well cause they will receive more energy during the time the shoots need to repair), will now all form into somewhat equally sized buds.

what's the benefit of FIMing versus just topping? i've read that FIMing doesn't control height at all & seems to do what a simple topping does. i've never FIMed because of that
i always thought it was kinda hilarious that it evolved into it's own method & acronym too. like it was a common enough occurrence to warrant its own category lol

Supposedly you can get 3-6 or some people claimed 8 or 9 main shoots instead of 2 from topping. Also it’s supposed to make it bush out more than topping too. Lotta big claims with fimming lol.
I just topped that failed fim plant.
I did try a new fim on a different one and cut it as low as possible. Instead of a little tuft of leaves it’s kinda just four stem nubs this time.
What I don’t get is every fim guide I check looks exactly like mine. It’s like the plant just decided not to cooperate lol.

interesting. i mean, 9 main shoots sounds pretty dope but maybe a little overblown? curious to see how the next one turns out

Fim guides really suck balls tbh. I only found out how to get it to work properly by simply thinking about it and then trying it out several times. Even when you do what I said though, the plant won't always choose to use those nodes to their full potential. If it fails like yours and the top recovers too quickly and there's no energy to divert towards the side branches, I sometimes choose to simply do the surgery again afterwards, cutting away what should have been cut before, maybe even trimming or pinching some leaf additionally to increase the time the shoots need to recover so the side branches do decide to develop more.
It's really just steering it's energy by blocking some channels.

Planted around the 9-15th of April. I actually have 4, one sprouted a few days after this pic. Going with only 4 this round.

I didn't understand how to do either for a while till someone here was like yo dude take the whole top 1/3 of your plant off as my Christmas trees weren't gonna rock out so great under LED.
