So I have been growing this little guy here and I can't tell if it's just a mold or pan cyan mycelium. For what it's worth, I haven't seen it sporulating neither pinning, ever. Well, not too sure about sporulation but the pics im posting below show a greenish tint which is from spraying with water. Another feature of this myc is that after too much water it turns into a transparent gel like mat. weird stuff
So here it goes
The mycelium where it all came from

In the jar right before spawning. 800 ml to 3 lt sub

The tray after finishing colonizing
After casing it and in fruiting conditions

And at the end, I tossed because nothing happened. Here's the dissection

For what it's worth, its smell was not funky at all. Smelled grassy and ethereal. But not like almonds like it's described of pans.

That’s a tough one.
If it’s pan it’s pretty contaminated though. I’ve had most pans do weird stuff on plates after a couple weeks but once they hit grain they look ok.
If I had to guess I’d say dirty cube myc.
Pans are super fluffy when they colonize the sub. Also how long did it take to colonize? With pans it shouldn’t take more than a few days.

Grains colonized in 6 to 7 days. Sub colonized in 6 days in 1/4 ratio. It was pretty fast compared to cubes and definitely didn't smell like a cube. Definitely didn't smell funky like a mold either I faintly remember the smell now but it was something like grass or earth and hint of nutty smell. A very light smell but cant say it smelled like almonds. I've cleaned it thoroughly in agar and it grows close to ~4 mm a day in the plate. def faster than cubes

Here is a transfer I cleaned up on agar, this is 2 days of growth. Approx 1.7 - 2 cm diameter gonna put it to grain soon

IMO, it might help to stain your agar with food coloring in the future. Between the JPEG compression and the transparency, it's hard to see what's going on.

that's what my "pan myc" looked like too
it also did nothing, but at the time I chalked it up to my being too sick to keep up with maintaining the jartha. haven't had a chance to try again since recovering.
