CVG came out dense
    #27284060 - 04/27/21 03:44 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hey guys,
I whipped up a little bit of CVG for a 6qt shoebox and I noticed this time it came out much more dense/clumpy than usual. Usually it comes out pretty fluffy. It was a little overhydrated at first so I squeezed out some water and got it right at field capacity but it was still dense. I decided to go ahead and spawn it anyways. Does anyone know if this is a problem? I read somewhere it will colonize slower, but is that all? Thanks.

Maybe too much gypsum, i always go straight coir.
Mycelium will have a hard time to rip through dense substrate.

I know that but does that mean that its possible it will not colonize completely or that it will just take longer? Also will this effect my yield?

Meh...As long as your at field capacity im thnking your fine. May take a bit longer to make it through the dense sub.

I dnt bother with verm or gypsum. Strait coir.
Verm isnt bad, it's jst completely unnecessary.
Gypsum jst winds up as a thick white mud at the bottom of my bucket. Ive added assloads of that shit to wheat berries to keep the grains from sticking...nope.
