Hi all.
I pick some Mexicans shrooms yesterday from my growkit( first flush ) that were with some white /gray stuff on the shroom heads. I started to dry them, and was thinking of making the usual friday night shroom tea and have a nice trip. But i'm a bit worried, because i don't know if they got mold on them or not, and if it is safe to make a tea. Can you guys help put please?
Tks in advanced.
Here's a pic of some of them.

It'd help to see your grow kit to determine if there was any contams to begin with

I wouldn't hesitate to eat those. But that's my opinion, others might not be so cavalier.

It won't harm you, but they don't look like they were happy before. I'd boil up some tea from them.

even if it does have a mold it likely wont hurt you. Youre ingesting small amounts of mold all the time. If in doubt, make tea. Thats how ive always felt about it. Once theyre dried and then put in hot water like that Id assume it would kill any disease causing pathogens. Theyre fine.
People pick these things out of literal shit and pop em straight in their mouth. I used to do it all the time when i was a teen in Florida.
you also could of let those get a bit bigger, i think u picked em a bit early imho

Hi all.
Well I did try the shrooms on a tea and I did not got sick or anything. Thank God.
But like I said before, I cut out one cm from all sides before doing the shock reset water bath and fridge and the color of the cakes seems normal. But today I managed to get some pictures because the cskes have again white stuff on them... And I don't think it is micelium. What do you think?

Looks like trich that hasnt started sporulating to me. You cant really cut off contams man. Once youve noticed them theyve spread everywhere. Its like a roach colony, if u see one theres 10,000 you havent seen yet.

Hi.Thanks for your reply Ashtray161. I've never had a contamination like this before... This appeared on the second day out of the fridge... Are you that they are contaminated and are a lost case? Just to be sure before sending all to the garbage...

Hi all.
Thanks for the feedback.
What made me cut from all sides, was me trying to contained or trying to save the cakes of a possible contamination, or at least trying to contain it. The cakes start to show some white fluffy stuff ( sorry for the ignorant name ), right from day 2 out of the fridge, that did not look like myc and did not look like cobweb as well. After the first shrooms started to grow, soon after, the shrooms heads started to show some white stuff on them as well, but not on the fruit body, just the tops. Then after a while i notice that the shrooms stopped growing...so i basically panic, toke all shrooms out ( the better looking ones at least) to dry them as soon as possible, cut out 1 cm from all sides including top and bottom trying to save the cakes and also to take a look how the cakes looked on the inside. After cutting , the sides looked as healthy cakes...so i made a reset/shock bath, then 9 hours on the fridge. After on or two days the cakes looked as shown on my last post.
I did inspect the cakes a bit today with not much hope...because i did try out something that i read online for cobweb...Hydrogen peroxide. In my opinion the cakes looked the same...but i do not see any green or any other colors....yet. But im a bit worried and very close to throw it in the garbage, after reading about Trich contamination. Scary stuff.
Im posting some pics that i toke one hour ago:

Feedback is welcome as always.
Thanks in advanced

That is not trich or cobweb. Ashtray is a fucking noob. You just have aggressive pillowy mycelium

Hi all and thanks for the feedback.
Gee... Now I'm even more confused, lol. I've never saw this... aggressive pillowy mycelium before. Is it perhaps that the cakes were "over colonissed" or is it something to do with me... Like humidity , O2, co2 levels? And since I thought it was cobweb or Trish, I've spread some Hydrogen peroxide on the cakes, do you think that I've "killed" the cakes?
Thanks for help guys.
