Ive also been using ZipLock bags as well recently. I really enjoy them. They are basically perfect in design.

First, I started using 1 gallon bags, but Ive recently discovered the 2 gallon bags and they are literally revolutionary. The perfect size for small grows. Its crazy :mushroom2:

Questions are good.. quickest way to learn, IME. The jury is still out.. a lot of ppl seem to think it’s has to do with pinning away from the high nute source of the grain, hence the thickness and lack of nutes in the casing you get with peat and verm.. but there’s evidence (couple ppl have reported) that an even thicker (2”) top layer of CV works just as well... so I’d say that supports that. 

But there’s also the fact that not all cultures require the casing and fruit just fine with a top layer of normal thickness which I’d say is genetic.  I think with certain lineages, the high nutrients cause a mutation in the fruit production but it could be something completely different.. it really hasn’t been pinned down yet <— see what I did there?

Definitely. The growing process is gentle on the bags. Lots of reuse. But if u get sporulation, it will stain the bag thou.

i've been using ziplocks to fruit in jar but never thought about putting some together for a mini tub! the water tub looks great!

definitely gonna try that with my current batch
