I am a former Soldier and have had issues with PTSD, depression, and anxiety for years and have tried all of traditional treatment methods with little success. I've heard mushrooms help so decided to try it but couldn't find any locally so I decided to try to make my own.
I'm a geek and have been playing with Home Assistant for home automation for a couple years now and decided to use that to automate my grow to limit my chances of screwing something up. So far so good.
March 28th - I ordered a B+ spore syringe online and inoculated 4 jars. April 16th - Layered the colonized grain in with Coir/Verm substrate in a mono tub
It looks like it's fully colonized and I'm waiting for pins now. I was colonizing at around 82*F but dropped it to 72-75 now with 12/12 light and FAE for 5 minutes every hour.
Here are some pictures of my setup. Let me know what you guys think and if you see anything I might be doing wrong.
Hoping for the best...

BRF can handle some contam quite well, you don`t need to think about bacterial endospores with it.
But as the others mentioned, a bad syringe is a bad syringe. You`ll see clearly on agar what you`ll gonna spend to grains.
As you can see in the picture, a jar shot with that spores would have a hard time.

Picture of my mycelium today. 10 days after putting it in the monotub. No pins yet and it just keeps on colonizing. Hope I get pins pretty soon...

My mycelium is turning brown in a lot of spots. Is this part of the pinning process? Or is something wrong?

Well I got 1 flush out of it. 37.75 grams dry.
After the first flush, I waited a couple days and noticed white mold took over. I guess I got too confident. Didn't really sterilize the scissors or my hands. Figured the mycelium could handle contams at that point but it makes sense that it had a hard time considering I attacked it with scissors. Lol.
I'm still happy with the success of my first try. Thanks again for everyone who helped me get my feet wet. Going to figure out this AGAR thing and have 4 colonized grain jars I plan to put in a tub this weekend. Going to try the EZ Dial tub design this time and skip the gadgets to see if it fairs any better.
Here's some pics of the tub before during and after harvest. Enjoy.
Decided to take these big guys down the night prior.

The next day it seemed like the rest were ready.

I used little scissors and cut them at the substrate.

A few days later, white fuzzies were all over so I took the block out and threw it in my wood line upside down. Maybe the clean underside will sprout a few outside in the woods.
